Hilarious. This is a redshirt year. Plus there's still 3 other guys who need reps who figure into the short term picture before Hack...funny.
Agreed, draft a QB until one sticks. The issue to me is the vast majority of teams thought WAY less of Hack than the Jets. Either the league and all those scouts are wrong or the Jets newly retooled scouting dept is wrong. I'll take the field as being correct until proven otherwise. There were other QB prospects easily available to them in later rounds where you'd expect a project for a key position to be taken but they bypassed that and selected him in round 2. I'm not really seeing any difference here than when Idzik took geNO is round 2 in a weak QB draft or when Tanny moved up to take Sanchez #5 overall in another bad QB draft year. Maybe this scouting staff is better than the rest of the league and they've landed the next Brady but the odds are against it. If he doesn't pan out they'll look like fools taking a project so early in the draft when they could get an impact type player to contribute this year and still draft a project in later rounds.
We have an entire thread dedicated to hackenberg. Why does this need to get its own thread unless the o.p.'s intent was to troll?
I know a scout in another organization, he told me they didn't even have Hackenburg on their draft board. He grew up a jets fan, and was irate at the selection.
I'm sure he also told you the Bills would actually make the playoffs this century. No one gives a fuck about some scout in another organization. That Jets fan should totally join the Bills bandwagon.
We may not see him start for us in a game for a long time. No need to rush him out these. He needs to be Mr. Clipboard for a while.
How is that disciplinarian Rex Ryan dealing with those team issues over in Buffalo? Are you ready for 10+ penalties on your team a game again?
I'd bet the Jets win at least one game this year vs the Bills. Bills have beaten the Jets so much the last few years, the law of averages says that shouldnt continue.
We draft Geno 2nd round who threw thousands of yards a yr and 30 plus tds and also Petty they didnt run pro styles, see Weeden also from Ok St. So him running a pro style offense as a freshman and having a great season means nothing. Actually it was New englands if im not mistaken, the kid makes reads and audibles at the line like a pro QB not many were doing that at all. Much less a freshman in college so im not really sure how Gruden was hyping him up. I think Gruden isnt afraid to tell them when they have stuff to work on and vice versa. Just my opinion idk
