Yeah im not a fan of Gotham at all. Its a mess to me and they have way to many cop outs. Im was not that impressed with Jessica Jones or Daredevil. However I am very hopeful for Luke Cage and Iron Fist. Daredevil season 2 did step it up tho, I will give it that. I think DC will be just fine. Its not too late for them at all. Wonder Woman looks good so far. DCs problem is WB Keeps stepping in. BvS was hampered by them also. The ultimate edition is definitely a very good movie. Thats one thing. Marvel does, let the directors ya know, direct. Im looking forward to Captain Marvel and Dr Strange. Captain/Ms Marvel has long since been one of my favorite characters. I watched The Killing Joke last night. Easily will be the best Batman film of 2016. (BvS, SS not exactly tough competition) I did not mind the 30 minute Batgirl beginning, as it did enhance her part of the story, but the Batman/Joker story is still one of my favorites and they did a great job with it. It's an adult Batman movie (as was the graphic novel), but I did not feel it was too over the top. I was worried it would be.
No, I'm just going by reviews and the reports that have been coming out for months, that WB released a fun trailer that was in the complete opposite tone of the actual film, and test audiences were not happy with the movie they saw versus the movie they expected to see. It's a complete cluster fuck that WB knew the movie they had yet promoted it as something different, and then scrambled to make a new movie on the fly. I never had much interest, and the Joker solidified it for me, but it's hysterical how badly the studio screwed this up. The criticism of BvS being to dark and dreary is really based on how it alters the Superman character, not that nobody wants dark and dreary super hero movies. Suicude Squad lends itself to that tone but WB didn't truly understand the criticism, because they don't understand their characters to begin with by making dreary Supermam movies, and made the nonsensical change to a movie where it probably wasn't needed. Simply promote Suicide Squad for what it is and create a true expectation. The studio screwed themselves.
Gotham pisses me off. It had a lot of potential only to ruin it with the Batman villains being prematurely added. You didn't like Jessica Jones? I thought Killgrave was great in that show, but I could understand the fillers and at times there were boring parts, but I enjoyed the show. Daredevil season 2 was awesome. DC will continue to rule the animated world, I can't wait for Justice League Dark. I hope they don't change WW, they better do my girl some justice damnit. I want to see what happens with Shazam and Black Adam down the road. Great age to be a comic book fan.
I just couldn't get into Jessica Jones. I dunno why. The defenders however will be pretty good i think of they can balance it right. That im excited about. You may laugh at me, and i may be a little bias, but DC needs to give Icon some love. Mcduffy was a major reason they had so much success for years in both animated and comics. To buy his IPs and let them go to waste kinda pisses me off. Supposedly static is getting some screen time soon. Apparently hes popular. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
They absolutely need to add Static for a Teen Titans movie, he's been popular since that cartoon TV show. Icon hasn't gotten any love, but I think it's cause of McDuffy as you already indicated. Icon would be a good Netflix show. If the show does really well, have him in the movies also.
Ya know they just launched a Titans comic. Its got nightwing, red arrow, and donna troy in the lead. If they were concerned about child actors they could start with a shown like that and add static to it. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
Yeah, there are several ways to approach it. Rebirth has been a big time success, I may need to pick up Rebirth #1 and see what it's all about.
Well youll probably be happy to know they killed off new 52 superman and brought back the original. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
Post-crisis Superman? He hasn't been around in over a decade ... hmm may need to read this afterall. Superman when done right has some great story arcs. I know the original Wally West is back, I got some catching up to do.
Yes the post-crisis superman. Already married to lois and they have a kid. Theyre keeping both wallys around for a while. Ive neen reading the earth 2 stuff. I really like that. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
Harley was great and Batman cameos were fun. However, a very forgettable movie. I give it a 6. Will Smith wasn't half bad, yes he acted as himself but a decent performance.
I saw it. I don't understand all the hate really. I mean it was an obvious cash ploy of course. I wouldn't say I liked it alot or anything but I don't see how it is any different from these other comic book movies like Batman and Spiderman and stuff. They are all kinda the same like that. At least this one has a hot chick in Margot Robbie. She alone is worth the ticket price. I saw it last night and I still have wood this morning
It's all about flow in terms of plot and character development. DC is still trying to make that work. whereas Marvel is light years away. Margot Robbie was slamming, but man I wish I saw more of Katana ...
ah yeah I see what you are saying. Perhaps it was a little messy around the edges because there was so damn many characters
Batman was good. In it for a minute though. Joker should not have been in it at all. A complete waste of one of the most iconic characters in comic history. Can't compare Jared Leto to other Jokers even because he didn't do anything to even form an opinion of him. I think people liking the movie has to do with Harley. Just seeing her on screen was good for some. I thought she was wasted too via the story. Silver Lining: DC has the pieces to make good movies. Suicide Squad is the worst Super hero movie I have seen in years though. I did not see Fantastic Four, so I guess I would put it on par with Green Lantern and The Hulk.
DC can still get it right, they need to start developing characters instead of throwing them onto the screen, it goes back to BvS. I think that's on WB, and not so much DC. Joker felt out of place the entire movie, that's a character you spend a movie establishing who he / she is, I agree with you there the most iconic villain of all comics. Makes you wish they just started with Batman / Joker movie then open it up. I liked El Diablo, Killer Croc and Rick as well - they did a good job. Oh and I beg of you not to see Fantastic 4, it is awful, the worst comic book movie ever.
