It's this safe bet (media/fans) so I can't fully blame the front office Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Fitz fans got their wish....if Jets don't make the playoffs it was a waste of a season and waste of money Hope they make it
Disappointing, Mac should have been able to strike a better deal than that. He caved under pressure and overpaid, but at least if he shits the bed or gets injured - we can walk away.
Not exactly... We only had $9 mil in cap space. That was before Lee signed which cuts that by quite a bit. We are squabbling over a few mil Try again.
With this schedule? Went from 28th hardest last year to 2nd hardest this year..and lost about 8 starters in the process.
No matter how you slice it whatever we pay Fitz is what we will no longer have to use in the future WTF are you talking about try again? I guess the salary cap doesn't exist for some portion of the contract? Is that what you're saying?
Then why the fuck are they wasting money on Fitz? It's either you think you have a legit shot to go far or you don't waste money Anywhere in the middle is stupid to the core
It's for one year. What's not to like? It has no impact on the future of the team beyond this season, and with an adequate QB that has proven chemistry with our receivers, it may well not be a wasted one.
You clearly don't know much about rollover money. You can only roll over what you have in cap Space from the year before. Even then there are certain rules and restrictions about what you can carryover. Before Lee signed this afternoon we only had about $9 million left over in cap space. After that signing it was probably down to closer around $4 million. That also doesn't count Bernard Pierce. That also doesn't count whoever we bring in between now and the end of the season. So really we were only going to have a few million dollars to rollover. You can pretend that because we signed Fitz to a potential a $15 million deal that all 15 million of those dollars would have been rolled over to the next year but that's just not reality. We never had $15 million in cap space. We had about one third of that. So if we didn't sign Fitz We would have most likely rolled with the roster we had with a few alterations, which left only a few million dollars to carry over to next season.
Probably a lot of restructuring which wouldn't have happened if we didn't sign Fitz. Also you don't know how much of that contract is a signing bonus and what incentive bonuses he has.
