I hope you're saying that ONLY 1 game is a load of crap. He deserved a lot more. I hate the Pats as much as anyone but Brady getting suspended 4 games for allegedly (at best) under-inflating balls while Sheldon gets 1 game for racing, while under the influence, with a semiautomatic handgun, and a 12 year old in the car is embarrassing and shameful. He'll learn nothing from a 1 game suspension and continue to run his mouth. The NFL's discipline system is a joke.
This just knocked $2M/yr off the Wilk offer. Can you image if Sheldon got the full 8 game suspension? Mac would be on the phone with Wilk pleading for him to take the offer and come back. Not so much anymore.
As far as the suspension, I can't celebrate simply because I feel it's total bullshit that the NFL suspends guys for this crap in the first place. Now our 'beloved NFL' suspending players for stupid, non-football crap. Slap you mouthy wife in self defense? 8 games gone. Relax after a long day with a premium blunt stuffed with expensive cannabis? 4 games gone. Speeding tic? 1 game gone. Just hate the whole direction the games has gone in the last 10 years. With the pussy-fication of the game itself to demanding players act like good little conservative republicans in the off season. Jacking the cost of game day to where most Americans can't afford to go anymore, then taking the handful of good players you'd still pay to see play and sending them home for half the year for failing to say please and thank you.
One has to do with the integrity of the game the other is off the field.....He was never charged for being under the influence and the gun was legal.....Going that fast with a child in the car is ridiculous but hopefully he's done with the BS off the field and luckily nothing bad happened The biggest joke is getting suspended a quarter of a season and then one whole season for smoking weed....Shoudn't be tested for, what is the point? NBA, NHL, and MLB all don't test for it and the NFL is the one league where some players could actually benefit from it

I'm no fan of Goodell, but he's not the problem here. He didn't sit by Richardson's side and coach him through his bad decisions. He certainly could do a better job as commissioner, but that's peanuts compared to the players and their off the field bullshit. A lot of these young adults don't quite grasp just how lucky they are to be in the NFL and get paid what they do.
