Rather than ranting and raving bout "getting tough" and "banning Muslims" from the USA, how about we ban those on the terrorist watch list from buying guns and expand the terrorist watch list ????? I thought our laws were about keeping the guns out of the hands of the "bad guys?" Rather than condemning an entire religion, how about we exercise some common sense gun control legislation and outlaw assault rifles and large magazines? How does banning them save lives in a world where they continue to exist? Making it more difficult to obtain doesn't make them impossible to obtain. And if it doesn't stop the killers how does it save lives? Being a killer inherently means you have taken lives. So you are admitting that they will simply kill but by other means. Killing by other means just doesn't sound like saving lives to me.

I'm not sure I understand how implementing and enforcing a ban on the purchase of guns for those on a terrorist watch list punishes law abiding citizens. And what do law abiding citizens need with rifles that fire dozens of rounds a second and hold 100 bullet magazines? For hunting forest animals?
as long as there is a clear due process that leads to be put on a watch list that is a great idea. i don't want bad guys to have guns but i don't want the govt to be able to throw people on a watch list at their own discretion. too much room for abuse there. just out of curiosity, is this any less of a tragedy and an issue if this idiot went happy land disco and torched the place instead of shooting it up. we seem to be focusing a bit more on the tools than the deed itself

Who cares what they need it for if they are using them legally and not to commit crimes? Just because you don't believe they need anything that you determine is valid doesn't mean someone shouldn't be able to own them. Maybe they just enjoy shooting rifles.
So generalizing that because most terrorists are muslims, we should ban all muslims from entering the US, deport muslims, and condemn an entire religion. But when most recent terrorist acts are committed by US citizens with guns, gun control is an act of the government abuse. Boy do we have our priorities messed up in this country.
