They might as well throw to GeNo. But yeah.... seems like we're wasting a good opportunity with these players that that doesn't come along often. That's what drives me nuts about Fitz's reluctancy to sign on the dotted line. He has the great opportunity to cap a ho-hum career on a high note.
Yeah. Thanks for seeing that! : ) But honestly, I can't blame Fitz for taking so long. He's been trying to prove people wrong about ability and now he knows the truth. He'll never be the MAN. And that's why all these guys play. To be THE MAN. So they can lead a team to the Greatest Game on Earth and be in the Wheaties commercial. Fitz just had the best year of his career and the Broncos would rather trade for Sanchez. The rest of his career is going to be getting his head bashed in to diminishing returns. He wants aa much as he can get now.
Steelers are number 1. Brown = best WR in NFL bell = top 3 RB in NFL Bryant = top 5 #2 WR in NFL not to mention they have the elite QB to go with it
they have wheaton, coats, and DHB who all stepped up at times last year. they are still the top offense IMO skill wise.
Marshall & decker are a top 5 duo. i dont see forte really adding much to that. he is a guy exiting his prime who has seen prudiction decrease and time missed to injury decrease. Kind of like when we got tomlinson. a guy transitioning from featured back to role player. i think there are probably between 12 and 16 backs better then forte, maybe more. but i think thats extremely un important. what is important is the jets running game as a group. Powell, forte, Robinson and whomever else finds their way into carriers, maybe archer? i think as a group thats solid and should see top 12 production on a conservative estimate depnding on our lineplay.
what opportunity? to go 8-8 and watch the playoffs from home? this team is a far way from being a legit superbowl contender. i think what is really wasted is to start retooling now, and not committing to older stop gap players.
I simply meant playing in a system he's very comfortable in and having Marshall, decker & Forte to toss the ball to. Having a decent defense to lean on is a bonus. Super bowl appearances don't define a career.
They have arguably the best WR and RB in the league I think they look impressive enough on their own.
Gronk, Bennett , and the random JAG bellechek throws in at RB are probably going to put up some numbers this year.
Over ten years as a qb in the NFL is hardly a "joke". I don't think he's worth nearly what he's asking for. I don't even think he's worth what we're offering...but we don't have a lot of choices at this point.
no, the joke was on the bills giving him a horrific contract based on backup level play. hopefully we arent the joke doing the same. fitz isnt good. he didnt play all that well last season. he isnt a long term solution, and he isnt good enough to get us to the playoffs. i was one of the biggest supporters last year saying he should start and we should bring him in. cheap and better then geno. that was last year. now he wont be cheap, and we have 3 guys we need to evaluate in a season where even with all the bounces its very unlikely we make the playoffs. start geno, if/when he fails close the book on him, then give the rest of the starts to petty or hack or whomever is ahead at that point and see what they can do
that's a nice recipe for a 5 win season, and still a very shaky QB situation heading into next season. the book closed on Geno when he got his jaw broken, at least here in NY. you don't get many 4th chances in the NFL. Hack is nowhere near ready, and i have no idea what we have with Petty.
