Geno is not starting, not ever, just get used to it once and for all. The better bet would be will he get cut before the year starts then will he be the starter.
He has never had 15 sacks in his life, he never had 10 before last year. Oh he did have 10 in 2013 too.
Looking at it now he had 20 more targets that season and 2 more TDs for us. But compare that he was 28 then to 31 last year and it makes it a little more impressive to me. Also he was coming off an injury that a lot of people said he'd never be the same player again. But as great as he was , his numbers with Geno would've maxed out at about 85 catches and 10 scores.
Petty and Hackenberg aren't starting for us. That's the issue. And if you call Fitz below average I'd love to see the word you call Geno. Sure you were a Jets fan before last season? Cause those last 10 years were REAL below average QB play.
I love how you guys likes you can throw a stat out there about someone who didn't even play with him but one game. Let me guess you was right about the stats Marshall and Decker would put up with Fitz?
From what Geno has showed he was bad also. But look at the talent and look how long Fitz been in the league to Geno? We can go back in history and see how good players get after there 2nd year to players after there 10th year. I'm betting we find a lot more improve after 2nd year then 10th year.
Well apparently Fitz put up below average stats , or "replaceable" stats. I know Fitz isnt a great QB. But he's made it 10 years in the league for a reason. There's a good chance that once Geno is off the Jets he will never see a start again. This isnt some conspiracy against a player. Its not wanting to play a bad QB. True some average QB's are made better by better offensive playmakers around them (Fitz)..and some QB's make those better offensive playermakers around them worse (Geno) Not all QB's are created equal.
Well I don't think we are making playoffs with any of these QBs. So with that in mind I wouldn't mind seeing what Geno can do with better weapons and a better offensive philosophy than he's ever had and if it doesn't go well after the tough first half of the season give one of the youngsters a chance.
There people who been in NFL 10 years that haven't seen anytime on the field that means anything. Who to say Geno doesn't give Marshall and Decker better numbers? After all Geno can throw it deep. With Fitz once someone goes 40+ yards you know he not getting the ball because that his limit.
I'll say that right now. And feel very confident in saying it. Geno does have a better arm. Fitz has a better mind. With Fitz , if he makes an early mistake atleast I know he would be able to overcome it. Geno's confidence goes in the shitter as soon as things dont go his way for a series. Why this is even a debate is beyond me.
Maybe Genos year on the sideline allowed him to learn and develop. I dont have a ton of faith, but I suppose its possible.
Nope. No one is allowed to learn or improve in this league. You are either elite from the start or you aren't. Since Geno wasn't completing 100% of his passes, he's awful. /sarcasm
Big difference in philosophy here. I want to win every game possible, you want to evaluate talent during the season and don't seem to care how many games that costs.
