you might be right. Mccagnan worked in Houston with Bill O'Brien who loved the guy. No doubt the head college scout had conversations there with the new HC who just so happened to coach a top prospect at the most important position
https://twitter.com/MMehtaNYDN?ref_src=twsrc^tfw Manish posted they wanted Tunsil....now I'm content that we tried. We would have the potential for 2 elite tackles.
I don't buy that. They were reporting that the Jets still wanted to trade up ahead of the Bills well after Tunsil was already gone.
when it comes to reporting around the draft, you can't trust anything. but i'd be more willing to believe a report after the fact than one prior/during the draft/round of the draft
Mehta wasn't completely talking out his ass for once: The offensive player the Jets tried to trade up for was Tunsil. Obviously we didn't get him, but I read an article that the Jets started talking to people as high as the 8th pick. Guessing they wanted too much for the trade-up. Daron Lee was the -the- best available 3 down-backer who didn't have injury questions. The Jets had a draft position that was inordinately low compared to their young-talent-depth. Mac went for a similar but lower injury-risk pick. Size-wise, Jack is listed at 6'1, 225. Smith at 6'3 229, Lee at 6'1 235.
Because they wanted Lee and thought the Bills would take him but when Lawson was sitting there that was a no brainer for Rex.
Tunsil is not even smart enough to say "no comment" in the post draft pressers. He just handed Ole Miss a bunch of NCAA allegations on his way out the door.
Yeah, as talented as he is, the guy is dumb as hell. Good luck, Dolphins. Also, gotta love the Confederate flag hanging behind him in the video.
Tunsil appears to be the result of a gene splicing experiment between Jonathan Ogden and Vlad Ducasse.
