I think it's hilarious you guys think he's a 3-4 edge setting, pass rushing OLB.

This dude is an ILB in a 3-4 and a weak side OLB in a 4-3. He doesn't rush the passer other than when he gets called on a blitz which is rare. He's a coverage guy.

This is his best game they have on there.. I hope we get this version cuz he looks lost in other games. he's useful. he makes some good plays. he's not a game changer. not a force on the defense. cool, we got someone to fill a role. I just think it's an underwhelming use of a first round pick.

[IMG]New York Jets: Darron Lee, LB, Ohio State A Grade
The Jets picked Leonard Williams last year, proving that they'll draft the best player available, even if they don't have a need at the position. This year, the Jets have selected perhaps the best player available - and one who actually fills a need. The Jets have had a hole at inside linebacker for a very long time. Darron Lee, who could've gone as high as No. 14, figures to change that. Lee is very athletic and has a ton of upside. He projects as a great fit in Todd Bowles' defense.

I've warmed up to this pick personally....We've needed a 4.4 speedy LB for quite some time to cover RB's, do a little pass rushing, etc.....He was generally mocked in the teens so it seems like we went BPA

Fair enough, give credit where credit is due. Now get back in that lab, Mr. White, and stop jerking around on a Jets message board!

That's not his playing weight. He beefed up for the Combine and pro-days. I don't think he can add anymore and maintain his speed. Let's just hope he carry what he was able to add on.

Can't say I've ever been blown away by a pick at #20 right after the draft. Who would you have taken? For me, Treadwell or Spence

Yet 3 WRs were picked with the next 3 picks in the draft?

I would have taken Spriggs, Jackson, or Doctson. Here's to hoping Spriggs continues to fall. He'll probably go early 2nd. If we take Sean Davis I will do a backflip.

Bucannon plays a key role in AZ's defense but I wouldn't draft someone in the first round to play that role. I think you can find a tweener in the later rounds to fill such a role. We used to use Antonio Allen in such a fashion; I think he was drafted in the 7th round.

My honest take is that you are going way way WAY overboard in your criticism of him.

As if Mac had picked a long snapper or something.

Not sure who would have been a slam dunk 110% better pick than him and we obviously couldn't trade back.

Miles Jack is way too much of a risk evidenced by a top 5-7 guy being passed by every team.

I have too much of a bad memory of Dewayne Robertson for me to want to take that risk again.

    I liked Treadwell but I'm not crushed because I don't think he's a superstar.

    I'm ok with the pick.

The Jets missed the playoffs because the D was gashed by Tyrod Taylor scrambles. He had success because our LB core was slow as shit. Enter Darron Lee, of the 4.43. I'm OK with the pick too.

Lee is the greatest LB prospect to ever enter the draft
