I just wanted to get an official count on who the board would prefer to be the starter next year if Fitz does not resign. I know there's a lot of of other related threads out there so comments are not necessary; I just want your vote. Even though I am a big Geno detractor, sadly I think Geno has to be the choice base on the experience in the scheme alone. I'm curious to see what the consensus is.

That's like asking who you want to kick you in the balls if your designated ball-kicker quits.

Any of those options would put us in a tough position. Hoyer interests me but I'm not sure I'd want to be stuck with Geno/Hoyer/Petty as the only options and it's not like you can draft another QB on top of that group without cutting Geno or Petty..which would most likely be Geno even tho he could be best suited to start out of that group.
I'd rather just resign Fitz he needs to cave. It's nice to see Decker and Marshall still trying to recruit him back.

No interest in Hoyer. None. Zero. Geno by default, since I wouldn't be interested in throwing a rookie to the wolves.

I'll say this...if we re-sign this guy and he shits the bed for us this year, I'm going to hate his guts for putting us through all of this bs.

Paxton Lynch will be jets next qb if he is available at 20. Idk if I'd like that it he is big and has a huge arm

As much as I'm against drafting any QB in this draft , I'm even more against signing Hoyer or giving the reigns to Geno (then eventually Petty when he flames out after 8 games).

So in the unlikely event that Fitz isn't back, I choose draft a QB.

Atleast that would give me a reason to watch Week 1

I went with draft pick but what I would want to see is a true competition between the 3. None of them would be worthy of just having it handed to them. Not really any good choices up there though.

Geno. He sucks but maybe Gailey can fix him. If not, we can also go to Petty to see what he is made of.

Sign one of the available hold the fort guys. Then let the competition sort it out in camp. I know many of you hate the idea but my money would be on Geno beating out any new QB being signed. He knows Chan's system has a better feel for the other players and he is on the hot seat to show that he can be a starter on this level.

I vote Petty. After a year behind Fitz throw him to the wolves and see what happens.

Geno was going to be the starter last year until he tried to use his face to block a punch. Why should this year be different/

I know it probably sounds crazy but I'd prefer a qb with a little better judgment. Guy sucks at football and is a fucking moron on top of it.

The better question is why would anyone want him to be our starter?

I really have no way of knowing how good he is at this time. The last time he played against the Fish two yrs. ago he did well. The things about football IQ and all that I am not qualified to give an opinion because I don't attend Jet's film sessions and practices. I leave it to the coaches to determine what happens. I just know that Fitzpatrick is a journeyman and at 33 cannot become the long term answer.

just wake me after they do or don't sign Fitz. Until then, the endless speculation makes waterboarding seem more enjoyable.
