I get the point about trading Mo it gives us a second shot at drafting a LT where we might not have a shot at the top 3 if we stay at 20 that said I much rather keep Mo especially now as we don't really need to trade him for cap space relief ... cap space is good and fine but heck we need some players on the team who can produce lol
In terms of money Brick was not gonna get his 14 mil this season he was gonna make 9 mil ... if he hit the open market he probs gets a 5 mil dollar contract so at the end of the day he was walking away from 5 mil not 14 which for him was probs a no brain'er ...
Before trading for anyone, are any of these players starting materiel? Dakota Dozier, Jarvis Harrison, Wesley Johnson, Laurence Okoye, Brent Qvale? If not, why are they on the roster? Good teams develop OL players and promote from within.
They should have been doing it for years. Instead: Defensive back Defensive End Defensive back Defensive End Defensive back Defensive End
I think the timing of this is actually a benifit with the Fitz negotiations. The market has literally dries up for Fitz and now we have like 9M in cap space. If a mo trade Dosent happen, Fitz really can only sign for about 7M this year and maybe they give him 11M next year to a average the deal at 9 per. We can only pay you what we have and we want you here. This is a good scenario for us in regards to Fitz. But he may now not have anybody to protect him besides a rookie....
At this point give him 14 over 2 years ... 5 this year and 9 the next screw it ... so we can sign our rookie class ...
Really? If they get Chicago's #11 pick it almost guarantees they get an OT in the first round without reaching or having to trade up. At #20 the only LTs they have a shot at are Spriggs and Ifedi, and both may be a reach at #20.
Terrific, they have to change their entire draft strategy because the gm misplayed his hand again. Maybe we should throw revis another 20 mil just so he doesn't hold out.
