If the player is clearly the best player available, then I don't see why Mac wouldn't take the player. I would hope it does change that.
It could have a bearing in the Wilkerson decision. Say the Jets have an offer on the table for a mid 1st round pick, on draft day they notice Ronnie Stanley a prototypical LT is falling. The team with the offer is on the clock and Stanley is still there. I could see the Jets pulling that trigger
Are you going for the wrongest poster in the thread award? Cimini is a dick but he has his sources and doesn't make shit up. Mehta is the hack who lies.
Its called damage control. If it came out that Brick retire because the team went to him about a paycut and he wasnt going to play for that amount , most of this fanbase would be calling him out on it. Why would they cut him? Tons of dead money and then he signs with another team for similar money? Doesnt make sense.
We all hate Rich but yes he does have sources. I mean he literally just broke the biggest story of the Jets offseason.
Should be for all of us. All this does is free up more money to give Fitz , when he's only worth what they are offering. And opens up a huge hole in the area that keeps him upright. Brick praise for his career should be saved for another day. Believe what you wanna believe about what the media is reporting though..thats laughable to me.
So now you're saying that instead of the fan base saying bad words about him he'd rather leave $14 million on the table? OK, makes sense.
You do realize that cutting Brick and Brick retiring leaves the Jets with the same amount of dead money, right?
Not really what Im saying at all...but this isnt the first time in this thread you've gotten what I said wrong.
Its called damage control. If it came out that Brick retire because the team went to him about a paycut and he wasnt going to play for that amount , most of this fanbase would be calling him out on it. Your words exactly. How does this mean anything other than Brick chose to retire because if he said no to a paycut the fans would be mad at him?
Dead money isnt the issue. Was just making that example as to why the Jets would've never cut him. The cap space is the issue. And like I said before , obviously this is a good move for our cap situation. But it seems like you are just looking at it from that angle and not realizing we're left with a huge hole. Much more of a hole than if Mo we're to be traded.
Brian Costello @BrianCoz Source confirms that D’Brickashaw Ferguson is indeed retiring, as @RichCimini reported. #nyj
Of course this happens after free agency is all but over..... LT just became a no brainier in the first round this year
