Strome has been the biggest disappointment this year. He really does look lost out there. If they don't win a playoff series I think you have to see if a different coach can get more out of these guys.

If we get knocked out in the first round does it even matter if we get there ? I think we will get in,and I will be excited when and if we do but my enthusiasm will be curbed ,,,,,,,,

Pittsburgh fired their coach and look at the turnaround that team had with someone new behind the bench who changed their style and lines.

We have Capuano, a .500 career coach who obviously is above his head as an NHL coach but he is allowed to continue to be a garbage coach.

Big game tonight against the Flyers.

A brief sigh of relief,,,,,,,,if you want to make the playoffs and go on any type of run ,,,noes the time when teams start to get hot . I'm not saying the Islanders are hot far from it,,,,but teams that go on hot streaks now can go on a nice run

They got a break in the schedule by playing against Ottowa. Wait till they start playing the better teams again, they will continue to slide.

I have come to accept this team for what they are, and they are not a top of the pack team.

Wait until Tavares leaves, they will be back to the bottom of the league again.

    This,,,,,
Menace I share your pain,,,,,and as much as I want the coach gone I cannot root of them to not get into the tourney. The current team is not built for the playoffs,,,,too many young guys are just not stepping up,,but this has been the case for a while now ,,,I will say it again if only 91 had someone to play with him,,,he would be amazing

The history of the NHL is filled with significant team turnarounds after the coach is fired. The Kings won the cup in 2012 after firing the coach and I believe the Devils won the cup in a season that they fired a coach. I've been holding out hope for the same but sadly we ain't getting it this season.

Another quality Jack Capuano loss. Time to fire his ass. Enough is enough. Fire him.

I believe right now Isles would play the Panthers in 1st round as 1st wildcard, a very winnable series

I don't think they will get past the first round, unless the opposition is inept on offense they struggle, they really can't stop anyone, it's either they have to play all defense or offense, there is no balance right now because no one but Brock and Tavares can score.

They are not a physical team that make the opposition pay the price in their zone, so they spend so much energy chasing the puck around in their own zone they have nothing left to skate out of their zone and mount an attack.

Thanks for the vote of confidence but Jagr will probably put up big numbers against them.

It all comes down to coaching. And this is a poorly coached team.

Well if a coach does not have the players there is only so much he can accomplish. In the islanders case it is about coaching, they have good young players with size, and it seems no one can figure out what their supposed to do.

Nino nedderaiter was traded to the Wild, because he was not fulfilling his potential, all of a sudden he turns into an important piece of that teams offense, the question is, did he have it all along and Capuano could not develope him? Or was it the system?

All signs point to Capuano not knowing how to get Nino to play at the NHL level, and I feel he is failing to develope all of the young players the islanders have.

We can only hope that Snow sees this for what it is and gets someone behind the bench that can get these young players to flourish and fulfill their potential as NHL players.

What the hell is going on? I'm at work so I can't watch the game. 3-0 at the end of the 2nd period in probably the most important game of the season so far. At home, wow.

This team is not physical enough, no one pays the price for coming across the middle, I swear I don't know how this team has 91 points this year.

I don't buy the youth excuse anymore, they are not mean enough to play in the playoffs, they are constantly chasing the better skaters in their own zone and then are too tired to counter any offense.

    1st round elimination.

Team is going thru the motions,,,,I turned down tickets for yesterday ( glad I did ) as they really layed down ! Tavares calling out all the locker room afterwards speaks volumes he said " everyone needs to take a look in the mirror " ,,,,its a freaking shame that this guy has no one to play with ! Garth Snow and Cappy taking lots if well deserved heat right now,,,,,they still probably get in but if they somehow don't at least Cappy will be gone,,,,,,if they get in they are most likely one and done as right now goaltending is shaken and they show no signs of life or heart against the better teams ,,,sad
