I find it hilarious how you guys make shit up to try to make it seem like the jets really want fitztragic and is going through all this to re-sign a guy they only offered 6-7 million to.

The Jets are such a good spot for Fitzpatrick. If he actually goes somewhere else, he can't be taken seriously. That includes Denver, Los Angeles, Cleveland or anywhere else. So no worries Jets fans. If he does the right thing and re-signs: good. If he doesn't: He is not the guy you want leading your team anyway.

Why wouldn't they want him back over the other options out there? The other options aren't nearly as good and that includes Brian Hoyer, Mark Sanchez and whoever. RG3 wants to go to the Rams, we won't trade for Kap and drafting a QB isn't an option with this veteran roster.

AJ McCarron would be a good get but too green?
Bucs won't trade Mike Glennon. They turned down Denver.

This will clearly be a SOJ moment if Fitzpatrick does indeed bolt for another team. I am not saying its all the jets fault here but the confluence of factors (teams, market forces, cap numbers) are no doubt working against the jets. Well if he does go, at least he wont blow out his Achilles in green in game 1. LOL

Guy on NFL radio just said a team has to offer a lot more and not just a little more for Fitzpatrick to leave because he likes and wants to be a Jet. I'm like "Is this the Twilight Zone? Am I missing something?" Haha.

And I bet the Jets up their offer a bit to keep Fitz as well, since the lowballing is probably just a negotiation tactic. Honestly I'm not too worried.

The only way thats remotely reasonable is if they send back a 3rd and 5h rounder along with Kap.

Re-sign Fitzpatrick and call it a successful off-season. With couple of more cuts or contract restructures, add depth in OL and CB in FA and then for the draft, pick up a couple of speedy LBs, couple OLs, a Kicker and a speedy WR.

If the Jets offered 3 yrs/24 million and Fitz turned it down, its his loss. What did he make last year? 3mill? Was it even that much? That's a huge raise and an opportunity to stay with a team for a few years, which is a first for him in quite awhile.

That's still horrible. Your saying that kap has a higher value than mo.

Trade players and swap number 1
i think every teams fan ban except the jets would love him as our GM. Maybe we could eat some dead money and trade revis for a 5th. Or Williams for a third this year and next. Panthers want to trade up in the first. Keep your first we just want your 2nd this year and next.

Well you can also look at the three QBs picked up this FA or resigned, received an avg salary of $17M. While he probably doesn't meet the $17M/yr threshold, $9M less a year is kind of a lowball offer....Mac still has to make some additional moves to get more under the cap before he can increase the offer....Right now, Fitz while he may not have the arm to go deep, he fits nicely in Chan's system and the 3 versatile RBs....

If Mac doesn't get this done he is gonna look bad,Just pay the guy ....you can't put a price tag on competent QB play. And anyone saying don't pay Fitzpatrick more then 10 a year is just stupid. He gave us the best QB play we have had in the last decade and fans are quick to say he isn't worth more then that lol .Sadly he is and he deserves atleast a big number for this upcoming season .Structure the contract in a way where if it goes badly we can cut him in 2017 with minimal damage. There's no guarntee that he will have the same type of year but that's the risk you take ,If your gonna spend big money it might as well be on the QB position.

I am loving the way Mac is handling the Fitz situation. He set a price that is fair and is sticking to it. Let's face it he apparently offered double his last years salary. Is it under what starters make on average? Yes! But that doesn't matter because it's double his salary from a contract he signed when he was 2 years younger. Chans system helped him be good last year and Chans system could be friendly to a few other QBs in the market (Kaep/RG3).

If Fitz wants a cash grab with the Browns where he will be cut in a year or a stop gap in Denver where he will be cut in maybe 2 years, fine. If he wants what is best for his career he will stay a jet.
