Great move. He can run, catch, and block.

I'd like to sign Powell back, and draft a RB later in the draft or just sign a low key bruiser like Rainey. We need pass rushers in the draft.

Jesus Christ on a crutch, what is our obsession with old declining RBs? Hope he's getting paid shit.

He's getting paid $2 mil less than Ivory according to Ed Werder. That's a win. He's a better runner when healthy, a WAY better pass-catcher and better in pass protection. It's an upgrade in every area, health permitting.

I like it. Reminds me of when we got LT back in 2011. Probably even better overall at this point.

LT had about 800 more carries than Forte does, also a year older. I think Forte will be MUCH more productive than LT was.

I know the Bears royally sucked last year so it was going to hurt the run game, but still. We aren't going to be getting 2010-2013 Forte.

I'm fine with this decision. I think Forte is a good fit in this offense as an asset in the passing game. Given his versatility, I'm starting to feel like Powell will get overpaid on the market and they'll draft another RB onDay 2 or 3, which, the more I think about it, the more I'm okay with.

6.5M for Ivory was too much

Well yea, if we were then he wouldn't be here on a contract worse than Lamar Miller, Doug Martin and Chris Ivory's. He's going to be just find though. Especially in this offense. Perfect fit.

If we can bring Fitz back this signing keeps us competitive next year imo. Welcome to NYJ Matt Forte!

Lol everytime Fitz faced a half decent D he threw multiple Picks, I'm glad he thinks he's worth more than the Jets do, I hope he is not signed.

The last QB that made the Jets competitive was the guy in your AVI.

Nice signing. Forte has great vision and still has at least 2 good years left. Now get Zeke or a speedy RB in the first 3 rounds and our backfield will be in good shape.

Just for the record, since 2012 Forte's worst snap count was 58% of offensive snaps, Ivory's best snap count was 48% over that span in terms of each teams total offensive snaps for the season. In short he's on the field far more than Ivory ever was...
But He is 30 and for RB's the north side of 30 is the decline side where when decline happens it tends to happen quickly. Good 1 or 2 year investment.

Agree about the bitching but it was 900 not 1300.
