You want depressing? My Valentine died 10 years ago but I still listen to James Taylor for her. Was our first date--we saw him at least half a dozen times. I really thought about you and your wife today. I was gonna even send you a PM to ask how you remembered her on this day then I said fuck it, too personal. I can't imagine how I would live if my wife passed away. I am useless as it is but I will be more useless if she is gone before me. I probably would just jump off the bridge. Started dating her when I was 19 and married her when I was 22. My true valentine.
It's not really a Valentine's thing, I had just read your post and JT came up on Pandora. It's really her birthday, Mother's Day and the anniversary of her passing that are the worst. And Christmas or holidays where we all get together. I'd imagine it's as bad or worse for the kids. My daughter that is getting married mentioned it in passing the other day but I could tell she wanted to say more- how the hell does a daughter plan her wedding without her Mom, pick out a dress, all happy good stuff with that big empty hole in her heart. As it is we're left trying to decide which photo of her to put out at the ceremony, what song to play, how to make her a small part of the wedding without it getting too sad for the folks having a good time but carrying those black cloud thoughts in the backs of their minds. _
