Good risk free pickup. Still hope we go after a burner in the draft though even if it'd the later rounds.

He's only returned 1 punt during his time in Pitt.....mostly used on kick offs .Maybe he could be the punt returner or maybe not ,there has to be a reason he wasn't returning punts for Pitt. But its good to get some bodys for special teams for training camp

I love speed at any position.
I understand he is small, he can get bigger, hopefully he can learn any position they ask of him.
    How old is he?
    Injury history?
    Career Stats.
    College stats?
Who was returning punts/kicks in front of him, in his career.

It's clear the Jets want to increase team speed. Archer should help our special team play, but he also needs to contribute part of the time to the offensive side of the ball, to earn a spot on the game day roster.

Good signing and a big improvement to what we had last year.

Does this spell the end of Cro?

Nice kick the tires type signing. Very athletic. Had success as KR in college. Yea, he's small and he'll go down easy but he's also prolifically fast.

Cro was our best kick return guy on many occasions.
I really think he can still play on the back end of our secondary, and is still better than anyone in the free agent list now.
I believe he would take a cut to stay here, maybe he wants a shot to win one before he retires.

Probably won't make the team, but it's fine as a kick the tires signing.

No risk signing. Maybe we find a gem here but I'm not holding my breath.

    College Highlights:

Not sure why Pitt (a patient team) dropped him.Low risk, low probability pickup for our Jets.

they had a lot of injuries this year. Might have been a casualty of the constant roster reshuffling.

wow, his cap # for this year was just $253,008. They must have really hated this guy or really covet their roster spots. I doubt he turns into anything but a camp body here.

I know everyone has highlights and it's silly to make any type evaluation from them and it's college and all but that guy is the fastest runner I think I've ever seen--he was just running past people like they weren't there.

Yep... I also found it interesting that he was slotted as a WR. Feel like if Chan can put him in space he can be an x-factor.

I hate to make the comparison because I truly think he's as rare a player as you'll find but: Darren Sproles. Put in the right role, I could see Archer having some success due to his hands, size and speed. Honestly, even just a boost in the return game is enough to make me like the signing. I don't think I've ever seen a worse KR unit in my life.

Good no-risk signing. Definitely hear the concerns about him being slight. For comparison, Leon played at around 200-205lbs, so maybe archer can put on some more weight. Hopefully someone over at conditioning (or Snacks) can introduce this guy to steak so he can put on some beef.
