I think they can be forced to do it. The stipulations that exempt you from being forced onto the show are first year head coach, been on hard knocks in the last decade or been in the playoffs recently. I don't remember what the exact time range for the playoffs one is but I think it's pretty safe to say the Bills are outside of it. I think the Bills are definitely the front runner to be on the show given the ratings Rex got last time.

 

Well, Rex did win the Week 17 Super Bowl so I don't think he has an excuse for not being on the show.

 

I'll say this in his defense, while his week 10 sideline celebration made me want to punch him in the mouth, he was very gracious after the week 17 win. Just took off his headset and went to shake hands with Bowles and the players. Then in the post game presser he talked about how he wants his Jets "friends" to succeed, but not at his expense, and that 8-8 was nothing to throw a parade about. That was probably the most rational I've heard him.

 

Rex adds Ed Reed as assistant DB coach, I like that one

 

now if he'd just hire Eric Smith as secondarys coach, they'll be all set for another week 17 SB.

 

Leave it to Fatso to try to improve an already elite pass defense / DB-Situation. Meanwhile the front 3/7 can't get to the QB or stop the run. How about you hire Kris Jenkins or Trevor Pryce instead you big dummy.

Unless Pegula and Whaley nix it I don't see how they aren't next year's Hard Knocks.

I don't think they can force anyone to do it. Otherwise why would you have Houston and Atlanta in recent years? Never mind Cinci AGAIN. And funny how you never hear the Pats/Giants/Steelers/Packers linked to HK.

 

They actually can force teams to do it if they don't fall within those specific stipulations.

 

Then it's a new rule. Iirc the Bengals were on HK after they made the playoffs, and the Giants haven't made the playoffs in a few years, you would think they would be forced to do it under that guide. Hell the Ravens were on the year after winning the SB at the beginning of HK

I also remember they asked the Jets Rex's first year but they didn't want to do it cause of rookie coach/QB

Probably best for the Bills if Rex stays away from all things draft related

 

I know for real. As a Jets fan I am sad to see this news. I was hoping Rex would fall in love with some slow walk-on at the senior bowl because he let him and his son play catch with him after practice. That's the type of scouting report the bills are missing out on with this decision
