I don't blame Kelly for not wanting to overpay Maclin, Mccoy, and Jackson. Most successful teams don't sink that amount of money in the WR and RB positions. The rest of his personnel decisions sucked and apparently everyone in the organization hated him.
who says he expected to win? maybe he was just rebuilding and Philly has no patience. Maclin, Jackson and McCoy all have contracts they don't deserve He inherited a bad football team. Gave them a hell of an offense and the critics said he can't win by ignoring the defense. So he got rid of some of that offense, in an attempt to build up the defense and the critics bash him for those moves. WTF is he supposed to do? With that bad defense and adding on 3 large contracts for Maclin, Jackson, and McCoy he was extremely fucked if he wanted to make a defense
Exactly. He didn't have a qb. He knew Foles was fools gold and tried to upgrade though he should have known Bradford sucks. Not having a qb can get any coach fired. Just ask Belichick or Saban. Nobody has any patience anymore. Can't build a winner in 3 years and you get shitcanned. (Unless you're Jeff Fisher lol)We will see what he does in San Francisco
Desperate hire for the Niners. Once a proud franchise has now become a joke. If they think he is going to make Kaepernick into the amazing dual threat that he was for 10 games , 3 years ago , then they are sadly mistaken. Especially in that division with those defenses. Good luck to ya Chip. This wont end well.
Hindsight is 20/20. Only now do we see they have contracts they don't deserve, but they deserved them for what they did in Philly. He didn't expect to win? Seriously? The defense got worse. Got rid of Boykin and gave Maxwell a contract he didn't deserve. He deserved it less than Maclin/Mccoy/Jackson. Maxwell was a #2 in a loaded secondary and was asked to be a #1 on a badly coached Eagles defense. Kelly is garbage and will not make it longer than 2 years in San Fran. Book it
i dislike when people say "book it" after offering their opinion. on a message board. idk if Kelly will be successful in San Fran or not, I wasn't even arguing that he would but I sure as hell am not going to remember some random guy telling me to "book it" either way
He inquired about the 49ers job the day they canned Tomsula. It was definitely a job he wanted. Maybe he misses the west coast?
Kap to stay in SF now? Mike Rosenberg @RosenbergMerc 47m47 minutes ago FWIW the 49ers have taken just about all of the Colin Kaepernick merchandise off clearance
This is the best opportunity for Kelly at this point. The Titans have had both QB's out with injuries repeatedly. That's like a recipe for disaster when the team is already bad and the coach is expected to make a dramatic turnaround in a year. I don't know if Kelly will survive in SF but I'm pegging them for 7 wins next year in his first season and probably finishing in 3rd place.
Best opportunity? His only opportunity lol Reports are saying this was the only job in the NFL left for him. No one else wanted him.
