Have you ever heard the term redskin used in any racist manner? In my lifetime the only time the term has ever been used has been in reference to the football team or any sport team that has adopted it. Where is this history of racism of the term? If it's racist, it should be easy to point to relevant modern examples of it used as such. If not it is a prime example of how language can change, and in this case history has changed its meaning from one that may have been racist, though nobody seems to be able to prove that it was, to one that is not.

My youngest daughter is American Indian and very offended by the name 'Redskins' but again, I really don't care. Hopefully this will toughen her up just a little bit.
