Don't you realize that when you end your post with "asswipe" you only make yourself look bad genius? lol (sorry, for all I know you could be a teenager, in whicn case you'll grow out of it)
Still need the threat at QB. As we have seen, fitz is a very capable QB but not the overall threat that is needed to overcome games like yesterday. We need to find a situation like Carson palmer had with the Bengals. Thought maybe RG3 could be that fit but not now.
This was a terrible season. You cant miss the playoffs with aging veterans and playing a bad Buffalo team to clinch the playoffs. Would rather be the Giants and miss the playoffs. At least they get a good draft pick. We get cock and balls.
I'm almost 24 years old and this is the first time in my life I've felt this sentiment. I said to multiple friends this game is going to end in a pick or a strip sack, maybe Cromartie fumbling that kickoff. It sucks, but it is what it is. Everyone should enjoy the NFL playoffs because it's obviously the best series of games. Don't let the Jets ruin your enjoyment of the game itself.
your post might not look ridiculously stupid if... A) fans had anything at all to do with the outcome of the game... and B) those people who predicted gloom didnt turn out to be exactly right
I'm more than twice your age and have had my share of devastating Jets losses. Tired of rooting for another post-season team and wishing it was the Jets. I will be heading to the Boat Show next Sunday and spend my afternoon pricing mega-yachts I can't afford.
SOJ. But I'll be there in April for the draft, I'll forget about this loss come that first week in May. AND as long as they address MLB & O-line issues. This loss is probably a 10 on the SOJ meter, in the last 27 years. Can't think of one pisses me off more. The only thing i am thankful for is not having to shell out for playoff road game tickets/ plane/ hotel. Instead of playoff trip(s), I guess I'll splurge for a new front door to the house.
I'll probably need to wait a little longer until I have a more clear head, since I'm still pretty pissed. I dont really buy into the "Same Old Jets" thing, or that the Jets are cursed, or any of that crap. I think a lot of the AFC teams were very close in talent this year, and the Jets lost to a better team on that day. I think this years Jets was a decent team, that had a favorable schedule. I dont think they were a great team, and I dont think they sucked. I dont have any statistical backup for this, but in a majority of seasons I would bet 10-6 gets you into the playoffs. In a vacuum, yesterday's game was infuriating to watch. Sloppy play, bad coaching. Just a poor effort from all parties involved. The Jets just picked a bad year to be decent and win 10 games.
If you're going to be a jackass, continue to do it in the BS section, not here. I don't get paid to catch balls or throw them. I don't get paid to put together a game plan or kick field goals or punts. I don't get paid to make sure there are eleven players on the field - not ten, not twelve. I don't get paid to hold my temper and not take stupid penalties. I'm a fan who pays those bills. I'm also a fan who told a guy before the game that I didn't know who would win or lose, but if the Jets won it was because they played a good, solid game and if they lost, it wouldn't be because they got outplayed by a better team but by their own mistakes. When they got the ball back with forty seconds or so to go I said "this gives Fitzpatrick a chance to throw another one away." Now tell me I'm responsible for bad voodoo, I know you're big on that kind of shit.
Man I've been through this since the Richard Todd days. Nothing feels more familiar. The fact is they just aren't that strong of a team. Making the playoffs would have been over achieving almost. I would say they were a first round exit team...second round maybe. They weren't going far with their special teams as bad as it is. Ivory is a fucking mystery, to date. Powell out. After roughly 30 years of watching I realized what I wanted, and what reality was, regarding this team, and the vast differences and it stings a little less. But it still sucks huge. I've just been acclimated to big let downs from the jets and it doesn't piss me off nearly as much anymore. I thoroughly enjoyed watching a few of the games this year, which is in stark contrast to watching Rex' shit show, with Geno in the leading role. Fuck my soul with a flaming baseball bat. So what? Just beat Buffalo and get in. Anything else after that is house money, but at least have some honor and win a game that your supposed to for 1,000 reasons. Unbelievable. Todd Bowles is now on a prove-it basis for me. Totally sickened by this loss and how outcoached we were.....by Rex Ryan! Disgusting. I don't care if your a rookie head coach, you have to do better than that. What a putrid performance on all fronts. Until this organization proves otherwise, I will expect the worst at all times. That is what they give you, no matter who is in charge. If your able to look on the bright side and see some kind of silver lining in all this, good for you, but I can't.
No silver lining for me. Just stating the facts. Without a running game we would be screwed in Cincy then same way we were screwed in Buffalo.
Can't win a football game in Dec without a running game, and you SURE as hell can't win with an oline that played like this one did on Sunday.

Richardson should be upset. He's a reason for the 'Same old Jets' end to the season. If he doesn't stupidly lose contain on Tyrod Taylor buffalo is kicking a FG instead of a TD and maybe not having an early 13-0 hole helps these Jets win.
I don't know how much it makes sense to talk about SOJ. But as soon as the game was over, I began doubting just how great it would have been to make the playoffs. It wasn't just the prospect of playing without Wilkerson. But that would have been a big problem. The Jets have a very good DL rotation, and Douzable and even Bowen are good bench players. But playing without the best player on D this year? Then there was the obvious problem with the RB rotation. Key breakdowns on OL at key times. No one to catch the ball other than Decker and Marshall. And another slow start for the Qb. Then there's the long list of players who really should not be on the roster. Maybe not on any NFL roster. There's certainly been an accumulation of such players thanks to Tanny and Idzik. Who among them would have contributed in road playoff games? Then there's the CS. Season long, on the whole, I give them a net positive grade. But what reason was there to really have confidence in them going into the playoffs? Not a whole hell of a lot, I think. So they finished six games better than last year. And we have seen Ryan's ceiling, so he had to go, and certainly Idzik had to go. Perhaps best and most important is the Jets now have a core of productive players on O with Marshall in particular and Fitzpatrick a solid match with Decker. But they have a ways to go to be truly a threat to win against quality teams on a consistent basis. And as much as we all wanted them to make the playoffs, and are unhappy with the loss to the Bills, I am not sure on a going forward basis how much difference not making it is going to make. It ends up sort of neither a good or a bad season. Kind of mediocre, especially considering the price tag on the roster. But they can hopefully improve the roster. We can start with some guys who should go and some others who need to have more rational contracts to stay. Maybe it wont be as difficult as it looked this time last year where the team can be a competitive one next season. Best I can do.
