If Rex is such a great coach, how come the only team he can latch onto after his dismissal from the Jets is a semi-pro organization which hasn't done jack shit in over 20 years?
If Rex is such a great coach, why has he exceeded 10 wins once in 7 years, never won a division title, and hasn't won more than 8 games since 2010?????
Let's also bear in mind the Bills destroyed us twice last year. It's not as if Rex's great coaching put them over the top against us.
Rex only wins games when his ego is on the line. The Bills are in 3rd place and the Jets went 10-6 (normally a playoff record) and are in 2nd in the division. The Jets have won more games than the Bills because every game the Jets prepare for well. Rex only really tries when he face the Pats or Jets. Rex truly wanted to spoil the Jets today. When he is not in that type of role, his team stinks. I would rather have Bowles than Rex and the Jets were closer to making the playoffs coming off a 4-12 season. This year was supposed to be big time for the Bills.
Yeah it is a surprise. The last time a former coach came back the next season to sweep his old team was in 1926.
Spoiling other teams seasons is the best you will get from rex ryan. Next year you will not do better than 8-8, mark my words.
oh, he's a crap coach, in 5 seasons when Rex is telling war stories about rallying his troops to scrape to 8-8 in some studio. TB will still be coaching professional football.
Rex coached a good game. Not much else to say. I guess I'll put the proverbial Rex Ryan's wife's foot in my mouth. Fuck him, the fat pussy.
I can answer that one ... because he's had the worst starting QB in the league 6 of his 7 years and in the other year it was Tyrod Taylor. Vince Lombardi wouldn't have won a division title with Sanchez, Geno and Tyrod Taylor, either. Now, whether or not the fact that Rex had the worst starting QB in the league 6 of his 7 years is primarily his own fault? That's up for debate.
Bowles is a better coach than Rex. It's very hard to argue otherwise. Rex is a great fit in Buffalo where their fans have had nothing but loss after loss since the turn of the century. He's great for a new owner and regime looking to revitalize a fan base cause he'll tell Buffalo fans how great they are and how great every player on the team is regardless of how many games they actually win.. But in the end you get what you get, an undisciplined team, and a below average offense. The Bills went 8-8, they took a step back from what they were last year (record wise). Rex's schtick will get old in Buffalo real fast. What saved him with the Jets was how successful they were right from the start. It allowed Rex to run his mouth for a few more years
I think Rex could have been a good coach. But he counters his instincts with hubris and making dumb mistakes. But sometimes his game plans are correct and his teams can pull off upsets. I'd still take Bowles in a heart beat. Rex never learns. Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
Rex is a crap coach the problem is I didn't see anything this year that tells me Bowles is any better.
It really isn't. Rex went to the AFC Championship game twice with the worst QB in the league. Bowles has had one year as head coach and missed the playoffs with a mass of defensive talent that everyone on this board was comparing to the 85 Bears before the season started ... and a QB that had a career year and set franchise records. I'm not saying he's worse than Rex (although I think he is), but to suggest "it's very hard to argue" he's not a better coach than Rex is ludicrous.
