It's the same story as its always been with Rex and if you read Watkins statements after the game you can't help but shake your head and laugh, " nobody on this team is being held accountable". Rex didn't take over some shit team that needed to be totally overhauled. He took over a team that had an incredibly talented defense, one that was expected to be one of the best in the league, and a team that needed to do what a lot of others are in need of, finding a serviceable QB until you groom a younger guy to build your franchise around. Taylor is a decent QB , definetly an upgrade over EJ, so you figured this team could possibly make a run. That is until you realize you've got an overhyped and WAY over rated HC who has no clue how to run the show. If Rex hasn't been exposed as the fraud he is at this point then people need a serious reality check. His locker room is in disarray his sideline during games is clueless and "accountability" is the word of the day in Orchard Park the same as it was in Florham Park when he was wearing green. Don't shed a tear for Rex he'll make millions at ESPN for being just what he is, a reality tv star.
All true. I just hope he doesn't make millions on ESPN. He doesn't deserve it. That would be glorifying incompetence/stupidity. He deserves to never work anywhere near football again, not even as a DC. He took what should have been a top 5 D and rather than adapting himself and continuing to use the system in which the players were acquired/drafted for and in which they were successful, he forced his system onto them (trying to force square pegs into round holes), then compounded it with his usual cluelessness, laziness, lack of discipline and accountability. He is an unmitigated disgrace. Buddy ought to punch Rex in the mouth for disgracing the family name. I hope they all go away and we never have to see/hear any of them again.
I couldn't agree more but we all know what sells and Rex has the personality that keeps both himself and his team in the news albeit for all the wrong reasons . I honestly don't think his ego would allow him to go back to being a DC , I just think he loves him some him far too much . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yikes...I'm as happy as anyone that Rex is finally being exposed but I don't hate the guy. I hate the apologist's who blame everyone but him for his failures.
LOL I don't "hate" Rex, but I do despise and detest him. It's a thin line, but I don't cross it wishing him to get physically hurt or killed or anything. I despise and detest him for what he did to my beloved Jets, how he took over a disciplined team with some talent and veteran leadership, and that had a chance to develop into a perennial contender, dismantled it, gutted its leadership, changed the culture to one of lack of accountability and lack of discipline, and turned it in to a three-ring circus. It isn't just Rex I despise, but the general incompetence and stupidity of so many football coaches at all levels. I'm fed up with seeing high school and collegiate coaches not teaching basic fundamentals and not correcting technique issues with QBs and other players because they think/fear it will cause the players to have to think too much and work on those issues rather than play, and thus their team possibly won't win as much or the coaches look as good. At those levels, it's not just about winning, but helping the players develop their talents and abilities the best they can. In the NFL I'm fed up with coaches and their damned systems where they try to force square pegs into round holes. They go to a team and totally change things, causing a massive turnover in personnel and at least some, if not most, of the remaining players to perhaps not play up to their potential, and then dumb GMs draft prospects who excel at one style of play or in one system, and then scratch their heads when those players bust in a totally different system. It's inefficient, keeps things constantly in turmoil, and ultimately isn't what's best for the teams or players. I also despise blowhards and bullies and that's what Rex is. He thinks he knows so much, yet he's dumb as a stump. I also despise our culture which glorifies and rewards dumbasses like Rex.
Sadly, you're probably right about what sells and Rex's personality. He definitely loves himself, but if he loves the game and being considered a defensive guru as much as I think he does, I think he will definitely willingly go back to being a DC. He may think that if he can coach the D for a team that wins the SB, he'll get another chance to be a HC. I'm certain he won't blame himself for his failures and won't be able to understand how he undermines the very thing he wants with his shortcomings. He may love money and the spotlight more than football or coaching however, so you could be right.
id put him on tv and make him wear a wife beater every week just so that everyone can see his stupid fucking tattoo. what a dipshit.
I do as a matter of fact, not as much as football, but I enjoy it. My college didn't have a football team, so soccer was our fall sport. Thankfully, we had a very good team, and I came to really like the game. I love the World Cup. Just because I have a problem with the stupidity of some of the coaches and GMs in football doesn't mean I should stop watching it. If I stopped participating in activities because of stupidity, I'd pretty much have to stop everything, even living, because like everyone else, I can say and do stupid things at times. I try to be self aware, learn from my mistakes, and not blindly keep repeating them, and don't use others selfishly to their detriment. I'm also not delusional like some people. I'm fully aware of my shortcomings.
http://bills.buffalonews.com/2015/1...rex-ryans-claim-lacked-confidence-washington/ I realize firing a coach after one year is a huge no no but I don't know how you keep Rex if you are Buf. He's systematically throwing his team under the bus without actually doing it. The week 17 game is going to either be a cakewalk or the Bills players trying to play for pride. What they won't be doing is playing for whatever nonsense Rex feeds them. Rex has been exposed and based on the stories coming out. He's lost one half of the team at the very least. The irony is that it's the only part he gives two shits about.
ah, man this has me dieing over here man. That guy looks like alow rent wrestling character. Anybody remember the Brooklyn Brawler?
There are $22 million reasons for them not to have Rex be a one and done coach, as in the amount of money left on the remaining four years of his deal. If it wasn't for that ridiculous contract then yes I'd say there was a chance he could get Carrolled.
