Regardless of the outcome of the other games, we still need to win. We need to come out and punch them right in the mouth. Hit brady early and often. They clinched a 1st round bye so lets hope we bang them around a little bit and make them question playing all out the rest of the game.
Supposedly Amendola and Patrick Chung are really banged up. It also looked as if Gronk was limping around at the end of the game today vs the Titans. Hopefully Edelman doesn't play either.
All you can do is play who is next on your schedule. The Jets have the Patriots. Let's play them and see how it goes. Fans will look at: Browns at Chiefs Steelers at Ravens Bengals at Broncos The Jets can't though. They need to play mistake free on offense and try to cause some turnovers on defense which is not easy against a Brady led Offense.
Scream your heart out and have a great time. The 12th man is going to be important, and if you get anywhere close to Gisele, tell her that her husband fondles puppies.
If my seat doesn't come loose due to stadium volume, consider us failures as fans. MetLife will be ROCKIN, especially if we are fortunate enough to go ahead early.
That's happened all game every game this season, fortunately, it hasn't been the key. It hasn't been for a while, if it ever was. If you want to beat our team, outplay us on Special Teams and hope for a few mistakes from a depleted offensive cast. Both of our losses this season were started by ST turnovers or overall ST disasters after we jumped out to a 14pt lead in each game. Tom has also misfired to some newer guys by not being on the same page and LaFell has seemingly significantly regressed from his outstanding season last year. Our top 3 WR's for this game may be LaFell, Martin, and Hankerson. Not inspiring. Hightower tweaked his previously injured knee as well, but he appeared ready to go if needed. Chung also left the game but seems to be OK. Amendola is likely to miss along with Edelman, Dola tweaked his previously injured knee today. This game is a lot more important to the Jets than it is to the Pats, the Pats have at worst the #2 seed and if things don't go their way early, while not BB's style, he may shut down and prevent risking further injury with an upcoming guaranteed bye week.
It hasn't been that difficult recently, we've fumbled a return in each of the past 3 games, given up huge returns, including one for a TD, had a blocked punt returned for a TD, and almost had another punt blocked. Our ST has been atrocious this past month, generally one of the best in the league, but past 3 games easily one of the worst.
Tommy has always had a problem keeping his cool when he's getting knocked down and beat up. Face it - he's a crybaby. Solid rushing and aggressive blitzing will have him whining to the refs and chirping at his teammates. Hopefully it also pushes him into forcing some throws and giving up the ball. If Belichick decides to pull the plug and send in Garoppolo on a rescue mission that's okay too.
Ah, the task at hand… Stopping that annoying bitch Brady from hitting that annoying bitch Edelman in stride or sneaking a pass to that annoying bitch Amendola in the second half will be key. Brady is so good at making a quick decision to throw an accurate pass to an open man with room to run its fucking ungodly annoying and terrifying to think about, Revis and co. be damned. Its gonna take a shootout to win this, a high scoring affair where we match'em tick for tack. Fitz and his weapons need to be on their A-game.
Ahh, you haven't been paying attention.....that doesn't rile Brady any more. He just gets up, brushes off, and moves on to the next play. No bitching out teammates, no pissed off mug, just cool, calm, Brady. The fucker found another gear this year. That approach doesn't work any more. Our D will have to play lights out - right from the opening kickoff - and play for a solid 60 mins. So will the offense, they are going to have to go point-for-point with whatever the D allows the Pats to score. The difference could well boil down to special teams as Strngplyr indicated earlier. This is not going to be a game where anyone can afford to start slow, or take some plays off. If you do that - your dead. With Pitt winning yesterday I don't think we are realistically getting to the playoffs anyway, but it has certainly been a whole lot better season than the past few, and I already look forward to what we do this off season and next year.
Belichick will go all out to destroy the Jets and wreck our season, and even with a depleted offense, Brady will make those in uniform better. It helps the Jets a lot that the Patriots are so banged up, but the Jets are still at an enormous disadvantage
While much focus is on stopping Brady, I think the key based on the evidence of the Dallas game will be how well the Jets' OL plays. NE's front seven is at least as good imo as Dallas's, and there was much to be concerned about watching the Jets OL. F'ing Winters had 3 penalties in the first half, for example. Of course he's replacing Colon who did not play well last time against NE, but the Jets need the OL to play better than in that game, not just as well. Gotta have the OL establish the run I think in order to win this game. And pass protect. It's not all about stopping Brady.
