I don't see a game on the schedule that's a definite loss. NE and Bills will be good games, but we already 'almost' beat the Pats in NE with Fitz fumbling on the first play and Ivory injured on the 2nd play of the game. Don't forget we were winning that game by 4pts with 5 minutes to play. Until the Giants game, the Jets had been the only team to be beating the Pats in the 4th qtr. Move that game to the Meadowlands with a healthy Ivory and we win. Our o-line will determine if we finish 6-0 or 0-6. That's the one unit that has dropped off the last month that's made it really tough for Fitz and Ivory to get going and sustain drives. There's game planning Gailey can do to help. Keeping Davis and Bohanan in to block, quick throws, Ivory/Powell screens, etc. Will it be enough to stabilize our line? You tell me and I'll tell you how many games we win. Until then I'm staying with 11-5
Who says that? Have we done anything in the past 5 weeks to indicate we can't lose to them again? I think 7-9 and I am not counting us beating anybody. Simply the odds of us totally losing out are unlikely and that will get us 2 more.
7-9. This team has completely checked out since the Pats game. Just look at our sideline guys are giggling and telling jokes while we are getting our ass kicked by Tj Yates and Cecil Shorts. Zero leadership, dead emotionless team with no heart.
I would like to see some guys benched for poor play and send a message. Davis should be replaced by Henderson is the glaring one in my opinion. Mauldin replacing Pace, although ii would assume he will be replacing Coples, but he should be a starter regardless. Somebody with fire that has a full time motor that teammates will feed off of. I hate the complacency, its one thing to be business-like in your approach to the game, but football is an intense, emotional game. Friggin show it between the lines
I hate threads like these, but right now, it's a fair question. So, it being a guess like everyone else's, I have to say 7-9, but I'd like to think 9-7 is realistic. It probably isn't. 7-9.
9-7 finish with wins over buffalo, Tennessee, Miami, and Giants Losses against the patriots and Cowboys Good enough to clinch 6th WC spot and make a run in the playoffs....get our run game back on track, and have the receivers stop dropping passes and we'll be fine. I also think Cro sees less snaps and Bowles goes with guys playing with heart and not heavy contracts This board needs some optimism....and chan gailey needs to wake up from his coma and call plays like he did the first 4 games of the year.
I have to say a team that doesn't want to play for a coach is the WORST sign possible. Once a team checks out, its really hard for them to get back into it. At least Rex's teams fought hard for him despite sucking.
6 - 10 , if Fitz starts the rest 8-8 if the switch is made to Geno, during or after the Miami game. 7-9 if the switch to Geno happens after 2 or more Fitz starts.
Its not too late for this team to turn around and go on a winning streak. .500 is likely but we may get a pleasant surprise. Keep the faith (cautious optimism) no reason to call the team a dumpster fire yet.
I don't know how they possibly win more than 1 game for rest of season, but I appreciate your optimism. They lost to a 3rd string quarterback (!) last week giving up 24 to him. They could only manage 17 points against the Texans defense. This is the same Texans defense that gave up 4 touchdown passes to Ryan Tannehill last month. The same Ryan Tannehill the Jets VERY over-rated defense faces on Sunday. That's just one example. They'll get absolutely creamed by Eli and the Giants the following week. Sad, but just the same old crap.....6-10.
8-8. I smell a repeat of 2011. -A promising start at 2-0 -Drop to 2-3 -Rise back up to 5-3 -Fall back to 5-5 -Rise back up to 8-5 -Lose the last 3. This year the Jets started 4-1 then fell to 5-5. I fully expect them to go on another fool's gold type winning streak only to end the season in disappointment, but I don't know if that's possible to win 3 in row with how banged up the team is. Likely, the Jets will take care of business against Miami, choke to the Giants, edge out the Titans like 12-10, Lose to Dallas, Lose to NE then beat Buffalo to save a losing record. Beating the Giants is key! The Jets need to avoid repeating the past and I feel again, that whoever wins this game makes the playoffs while the loser misses. Nothing would make me happier than knocking the Giants out of the playoffs and then playing the Bills on the last day for the last WC spot and beating them, just to see Rex's face in disappointment! I crave that after the last meeting with the Bills.
Are we even capable of ONE win?? Cant even think about who else we have to play. Tried but I cant Just begs the question before this Sunday.. Please... dont want my Holiday Weekend ruined Jets? Are you listening?
