You can point to this as one of the top 3 reasons this franchise is where they are at. They simply have NO answer on offense when teams stack the box against the run.NONE. They've tried over & over again to find a deep threat that teams have to respect. They've failed absolutely miserably. Stephen Hill, Jalen Saunders,Shaq Evans..and now this guy. They've either chose the wrong guy, developed them improperly, rushed them to the field..etc.Whatever the reason this has been a chronic colossal failure.I would say a notch below franchise QB. They're a running football team. Always have been. They'd likely be able to survive w/ a solid unspectacular game manager if they could just keep the running lanes loose. They've failed at that b/c they've failed at the WR position. There simply is no downfield threat that the opposition respects.Hasn't been since...sheesh..Maybe Dedric Ward?? Rob Moore??
Great Quotes in Jets History: "Can't nobody block me!" - DeWayne Robertson: 2004. “I just didn’t catch it. I just didn’t catch it. Got to come down with it,” - Devin Smith: 2015
A team that hasn't used a first round pick on offense since 2009 hasn't had even a somewhat respectable offense since 2008. Surprised? Nope.
He's a rookie WR. It's one of the most volatile positions in terms of first year production vs career achievement. I haven't formed an opinion on his long-term potential yet.
This. Antonio Brown had 16 receptions for 167 yards and no TD's in his first year. Demaryius Thomas had 22 catches for 283 yds and 2 td's. Steve Smith had 10 catches for 154 and No td's. Let's calm down and wait until year 2 to start crucifying this kid. Not all receivers can waltz into this league and be Odell Beckham.
I mean, the defender is nowhere NEAR the ball.!!!! He has him as beaten as Revis was against Hopkins! He did the hard part, just CATCH THE BALL!!!!!
he is not going anywhere. but he is fairly useless at the moment. he has to play a little braver out there.
Which would have been better than making him WR3 this week. Especially with Kembrell Thompkins looking pretty good the last few weeks.
