it seems like every single game we are putting the ball on the ground. And like 99% of them are inexcuseable. We arent seeing strip sacks from behind o the QB... these fumbles are all coming fro WRs, Backs, and returners simply being careless with the football. its 10 games into the season. the ONLY focus in practice and meetings until it is fixed is protecting the football. This team wins on defense, running, and protecting the ball. everything goes to hell if we cant hold on to the ball. last couple games are wins if we dont turn it over, especially the bills game
because has hasnt addresed it and made i the main point of contention. guys are still not protecting the ball in traffic. long term fumbling issues from a team perspective are always on coaching. if you dont put time in to correct it, it wont correct itself. fumbles are one of the easier things to address. its just fundamentals and not being careless
If Bowles has to take time to teach peewee league fundamentals then we're in trouble. Lol Im SURE he's mentioned it.
of course we are in trouble. we have fumbled in 9 of our 10 games, and have fumbled multiple times in half of our games. we are 1-4 in our last 5 games. and if he addressed it, it wouldnt still be an issue. fumbles are one of the easiest things for a coach/team to clean up. make it the only point of contention, and yank anyone who puts it on the ground. this isnt some ground breaking stuff, coaching have been doing it for decades, with great success
OP is correct. Turnovers lose games almost every time. It should/has to be a #1 preaching point. Marshall seems to run in traffic like he's carrying a loaf a bread, probably picked up that habit when he bunked with Geno over the summer. But the 2 Ivory fumbles weren't terrible. Ivory does a good job of protecting the ball. They were freak fumbles, the first was punched out as he as almost on the ground, the second was a non-fumble caused by the turf. But Smith on the kick return was really bad.
