I don't post much here, but this issue is really upsetting me. One of our starting CB's is getting beat every week for what seems like 100 yards and a TD. Its not as if we have no problems at the position. Dee has dealt with some injuries and its a real concern whether he will be able to stay healthy enough to be a starter in the NFL, but when he's gotten into a rhythm with his playing time, the kid has done well. He's shown why he was picked where he was in the draft. How does Bowles declare this guy inactive this week? Am I just missing something or is Dee getting forgotten about?
Here's a link to the New York Jets roster http://www.newyorkjets.com/team/roster.html Here you will find that Dee Milliner is not on the active roster. Also check out Google and type "Dee Milliner" Here you will find that he is soon to be activated to active roster.
I'm not an idiot. I follow the team. Bowles referred a numbers game this week when asked about Dee. The guy was available to play this week if the Jets wanted him to play, they chose not to and had a CB make Allen Hurns look like Jerry Rice.
To be honest, Allen Hurns is a legit WR and becoming a star. Same with Allen Robinson. Jags have a couple of solid WRs
Then you'd know he didn't declare him inactive he was never activated to begin with. You'd also know we have way too many injuries to activate a corner right now. Who's spot was he going to take? We had to activate Miles and drop a rookie OL. Tights are spot. He has to be activated this week or he'll be on IR for the rest of the year.
Stupid ass thread. How the fuck are you a fan and not know he's on IR to return? But then again even byz didn't know that..but still.. Edit: forgot all about Rontez..did he play at all? I didn't see him.
It's not a "stupid ass" thread. The guy asked a legit question and all he got was "smart-ass" answers. I wondered about Dee myself, especially since Cromartie is struggling. It's only take a second to deliver the information, without the snarkiness. We are all supposed to be fans here. There's no reason to put someone because they may not up on the latest.
How we word the decision on Milliner doesn't matter. They decided that he wasn't important enough of a player to the team to get in uniform this week. Do you think Darrin Walls is more important to the Jets than Dee Milliner? He can't make way for Milliner? This coaching staff doesn't seem to think much of Milliner, and I think its a big mistake.
Maybe he thinks Cro is better than Dee. Maybe Dee is available, but not up to speed with the new defense. Hard to juggle players with all the injuries we've had in defense. Some players are better 2 position players than others. Dee is still an unknown.
Why are we talking about Dee when Cro's replacement had 2 INTs yesterday? Dee can't stay on the field. Williams has been a beast.
Jesus. Where are all these smart ass morons coming from? Wondering why our #9 overall pick from 2013 wasn't activated even though he is healthy is a legitimate question. I was disappointed he wasn't activated. I was hoping Bowles could get through to this kid, and maybe this is part of the process. Belichick motivates this way. Watching Eifert running all over the field this weekend kinda makes you cringe though. Is Richardson really the only good Idzik pick? Good thread. with Cro. playing like dog shit, we need Milner to play like a top ten pick.
While this is very true, he was burned by everyone he stood in front of in 2013... Cro has been getting burned since TC by the likes of Chris Owusu & TJ Graham (almost daily reports of this) , Benjamin in cleveland, some guy in indy, Crabtree just straight up dogged him he didn't even burn him.. just treated him like a child..., and THEN he told us exactly what Hurns was gonna try do to us and he let him do it anyway!!! Alcrotraz??? nah AlcroTRASH!
I think Milliner can show his worth if he's healthy, Pryor is good, Jace is ehhhh.. TBD, outside of that i donn't think idzik got any other noteworthy players. He tied Decker up for cheap.
Bowles is convinced that Cromartie is either playing well or going to play well. Both him and Kacy Rodgers have been spewing this garbage since day one at camp when Cro was getting torched by practice squad players. Can Cro turn it around? I thought he played well the 2 games before, but is it reasonable to expect him to return to that for the entire year, based on his career? Hell. No. So unless Bowles starts making some lineup changes soon this team is not going anywhere with Cro playing corner and Pace rushing the passer over guys like Mauldin. Play Marcus Williams already. Not sure what that kid has to do to get Todd's attention. Maybe date his daughter like Tyrann Mathieu did. As for Dee, he'll be back when and if he's healthy and up to speed. Maybe he had another setback, maybe he's just not in football shape yet. But there's no way I'd play him over Marcus Williams anyway.
Yeah--RM played pretty badly especially being out of position on a long WR gain. He's not a solution based upon this game.
Walls plays on special teams. Milliner doesn't. They have to cut someone to make room for Milliner just as they cut the rookie O lineman to make way for Rontez Miles. So yes, in the world of the entire roster Walls was more important than Milliner yesterday. I'd add that special teams had their best game of the year. Milliner is ready to play but not start. He hasn't seen the field in over a year. The injury situation in the defensive backfield would not allow him to slowly worked into a rotation.
