Wesley Johnson was playing center I think. And I don't believe he even gave up a qb pressure against a front seven that was manhandling our line.
Pros & Cons of starting Petty this week: Pros: 1) It's a home game vs the Jags 2) We get a glimpse of what he can do.. nobody is expecting him to the next coming of anything, But we can at least see how far he is from being able to compete for the starting job. 3) He some what knows the system i'd say a lot better than any of the scrubs we could possibly bring in and rush out there. Cons: 1) No Brandon Marshall 2) we're 4-3.. can't really afford a 3rd straight loss by experimenting. 3) Rookie QB's come with Rookie mistakes.
oh shit....true.. he's on my fantasy team and i sat him out this week and got it confused with real life lmao. my bad fellas.
I wouldn't play Petty under any circumstances this week. Give him a full year to learn. Jets have a managable stretch coming up and have a winning record. No need to throw in a rookie Now if jets get eliminated, or have a wild card locked up early, I'd play Petty the last game of the season.
Bryce can only start this game if Mangold is playing. He doesn't know anything about protections, and Mangold is used to carrying rookie QBs with protections because he did it with Mark and Geno. Throwing out a QB who can't even call out a mike with an inexperienced center is just unfair to everybody.
I've been in high praise for Bryce.. and that would be if he was a Jet or not. I like Bryce Petty. He was born to be a NFL QB!! He's young he's fun he has a cool ass last name and most importantly he can BALL! Name a throw Bryce can't make? i'll wait... Every QB was a rookie once and had their dark cloud of doubts over them early in their careers especially around debut time. Whether they were projected to be good or not.. they all had to face the "is he ready, what can he be..what cant he be?" test. Fuck it, let em ball. We're not asking him to take us to the playoffs, just show us he's a NFL caliber QB that has potential to be the man in NY! GO BROADWAY BRYCE!
Don't tell me to look around, I have already done that, show us a post that says he is going to be the best of all time.
It is interesting that Baylor is now ranked number 6 in the country..can't believe that would have ever happened if Petty didn't put them on the map.
It's also interesting that not a single poster here has ever said that Petty put Baylor on the map which makes this post completely unsolicited. 100% of the posters here acknowledge that the system led to his productiveness, but he has unique size and arm strength that are interesting traits if he can be developed correctly.
Yes, yes he is... But notice they are already setting Bryce up to fail if he isnt the second coming of Brady.
