agreed... that is not the subject, nor should it ever be. No room for that. I am another who just feels he does not have an IQ for the NFL. No one should read anymore into that.

Colt McCoy would be a very good choice for the Jets. He can like Fitz be a competent game manager. If Mac can make a deal for him I'd start him immediately if Fitz can't play.

That's just pure bullshit. Eric Smith ring any bells? WFH? TommyB? There's just as many fans ragging on Fitz as there is Geno.
Leave the racist bullshit out of this.
Geno had a chance to prove himself today, he showed us what we've seen for 2 years. Great athletic ability, not mentally up to be QB in the NFL. We've had a ton of bad QB'S over the years, nothing personal.

I think you may be on to something. Hopefully the coaches will analyze and get the best out of the player. Nothing I've seen shows me he can't play the position. The venom on this board is unfortunate.

I really don't think anyone here is bashing Geno for being African American, many love Mark and he is Mexican and many here love Geno but the bottom line they both suck. I for one would be a fan of an alien if he won us game.....race doesn't mean jack to me and I'm pretty sure is doesn't to 99.9% of Jet fans, we just want to win PERIOD!

Against a team with the worst passing defense in the league doesn't really say much but hey if the kid plays well and starts to read defenses and cuts down the mental/rookie mistakes then hey i'll be his biggest fan but until then

Focus on his mistakes.....a guy that hasnt played all year....not on the darts he threw all day of which fitz is simply incapable.
Let Fitz have that EXaCT game and hes praised. Lol I dont know if it has anyyhing to do with race......but there is SURELY a slant here.

He's making the same mistakes he's always made. When is this magical leap supposed to happen?

Hopefully Fitz can play through this injury but his pass in relief of Geno makes me unsure..speaking of Geno he took a couple huge shots today I hope he doesn't have bruised or cracked ribs.
If Fitz can't go I see us bringing Flynn in to backup Geno until Fitz gets back then we cut Flynn again. I don't think the coaching staff wants Petty to see the field this year..he needs to keep developing.

Correct. We are just looking at emergency options in case the news on Fitz is bad.

    From Twitter

@AlbertBreer: MRI tomorrow for Ryan Fitzpatrick. If need be, Jets will look at QB options after that. Ryan Mallett won't be one of them.

I find it rather encouraging that no one has mentioned Tebow.

San Diego's season is basically over, would they take a second for Rivers?

Rivers' extension had a no trade clause in it.

Thinking that Mac will end up getting someone from a rebuilding team. Maybe that's foolish or optimistic, but I don't that he'll be looking for a replacement player level QB. If so, he's got a crap load of those already. Gut says he'll go after a Stafford or Kapernick that's underperformed but needs a change of scenery. Who knows though.

If the reports are true that Fitzpatrick's thumb ligament can have him back in 3 weeks then we're just looking to find a backup quarterback. People don't realize how intricate NFL offenses are.

You can't just come in as a quarterback and play in 6 days. It took Cassel a month.

NFL receivers get traded and only play 30-40% of the snaps the following week because they don't know the plays. Everything is so simplified by fans.

Rivers is a pipedream. San Diego just resigned him and they'd probably draw 8,000 people a game if they traded him. He's literally the entire team and the face of the franchise.
