I hate to say it, but this game was necessary.

Face it, we weren't going far with Fitz, maybe a Wildcard loss in the playoffs.

This CS hadn't seen Geno in action with their squad yet and you know there was a question in their minds about what they could do with him. The had him on the bench, chomping at the bit for his chance, and when it comes...

...he poops himself on the field like a mental deficient that is lacking a diaper. There can't be a question now. Geno must be dumped. Petty should be active for every game this season, and we probably being in some other scrub backup, probably that asshole Matt Flynn.

It sucks that the defense laid an egg, they gave the game up the moment Geno took the field. Maybe it was a necessary evil.

Hey, Geno handled the West Coast time zone AND the change back to Standard Time. Progress.....

You may be right, he was actually in the stadium when Fitz went down.

5 or 6 years, he may figure out how to throw the ball away.

This game was always going to happen. Fitz was not going to stay healthy all year. We can only hope that it's a blessing in disguise.

I am very unhappy with the D. I saw the same thing you did. The D quit as soon as Geno went in. They knew he was shit and they gave up. Absolutely inexcusable for this group who are supposed to be professionals, most of them cashing large paychecks. That might have been okay under Rex, I hope Bowles shows them it's unacceptable.

Yeah, it didn't give me warm fuzzies that the defense quit, that's for sure. They should have been fighting like hell.

Geno got crushed today. 2-3 brutal hits. "Geno" Maybe the definition of punching bag.

    Mangold out
    Pryor out
    Devin smith out
Fitz leaves in 1st (non throwing hand, looked like he was ready to play but held out by someone)
    Decker leaves
Marshall off and on... Not a good day for him
Ivory has disappeared, production down last two weeks

    No sacks
    No turnovers (2 weeks)
    Cro= toast
    Defense looked Swiss cheese

Terrible loss.. Jville next ... Need to rebound.

I'm not sure how you make this game about the backup QB, who played pretty decently given the terrible situation, when the D had an absolute meltdown from the first drive on, and our coach did not have the team ready to play. On a day where Geno threw for nearly 300 yards and his only turnover was a pass well down the field, I don't see this game as an absolute referendum on him as a player. I just don't think there is a lot of objectivity about the guy if that is the takeaway. Not saying he is the long term solution but today was a mixed bag from him, with some good moments to build on if he has to go next week. There is zero chance we win this game even if Fitz had played healthy, this team is not built to win shootouts on the arm of the QB, no matter who is playing.

The bitch of it is, if we weren't 14 behind and Geno wasn't panicking and pissing down his leg, he might have been good enough to get us over the hump with a field goal to win it.

what really has me worried the most is our Head Coach.....I haven't seen such bad handling of the clock, the guy is making Rexy a time managing genius

Geno looks exactly the same as he's always looked. He makes the exact same mistakes we've watched him make sense day 1. Drops back too far. Doesn't throw the ball away. No progression. Panics. Takes the hit when he runs.

Geno got crushed today. I doubt we see him again.

Defense was horrid today. Cro exposed badly. Awful game all around for the D. So many missed tackles. This one is on the D

Granted he is a moron for getting sacked but overall he played pretty well. I think you have a better chance to win with him than Petty this season. But he actually might not even be available next week to play. If both of them can't play Petty starts and you get an import like Mallette to back him up.

I think he got injured on that hit when he scrambled down the sideline. He got tee'd off on today... Huge hits on Geno, probably concussed

Our starter has made a lot of mistakes too, particularly taking big hits when he runs. Just be fair. Fitzpatrick was being praised left and right for 260 yard, 2 TD, 1 INT performances. Fitzpatrick didn't have to deal with a defensive meltdown though, and the one time we came close against the Eagles, he did not acquit himself well at all.

Pretty decently? What the fuck game were you watching? Whenever the game was on line, aside from that one 3rd and long he completed, the guy puckered up and fucked things up. Taking sacks, running out of bounds for a loss. He was pure dogshit.

And I didn't make this entire game about Geno, take your bitch blinders off. I said it was a necessary game to get rid of his worthless ass.

Sorry, but NOBODY should be pining this game on Geno. He isn't even in the top 10-20 reasons why we lost today.

This would have been a loss even with Fitz in there.

But that is not going to be the coaching staff's takeaway from how he performed coming in off the bench. When was the game on the line? We were never within 15 points because the D got blown off the field. You don't know football if you think that this game was ever "on the line" with the ball in Geno's hands. It was a desperate situation throughout and he did some good and some bad.

He won't be in the league that long to learn a basic throw away outside of the tackle.
