to me, this is similar to them announcing that syria bombed iraq during the 4th quarter (if that did happen)
I must be losing my eyesight because I did not see the nose of that football hit the ground. Close, but not quite. Oh well, OT either way.
Maybe it's just me but are they showing less and less games on TV? I thought there was always a double header on at either one or 4. There's only been one game on at a time lately.
Of all the bit quarterback contracts handed out over the past two years Cam Newton looked to be in the worst situation. You look at what the Bears offense could've been a year ago when they signed Cutler, Kaepernick only a couple years removed from a SB appearance, Wilson with back to back SB appearances, and Manning/Rivers being their usual selves it's amazing Cam's got the best team. He's grown up a lot as a player compared to what he was when he first came in the league. Constantly complaining in press conferences, getting down on himself after a bad game, those type of things. Along with losing his top receiver and having a pretty bad offensive line on paper in front of him. You have to applaud him. It's great to see because you can see in certain players that all they want to do is win. He's healthy and competing to the death. It goes to show you that that characteristic should be valued a lot more in this league by fans because front office managers certainly recognize it even if the physical and mental isn't always completely there.
Credit to the Panthers- but Seahawks clearly miss Dan Quinn. Sherman and Earl can't let Carolina's best receiver get open like that to end the game.
It's true on the defensive side for Seattle it seems like a lot of disorgnization. Which almost doesn't seem to make as much sense because they run one of the more basic 4-3 cover 3 defenses in the league. They missed Bobby Wagner a lot today. It almost seems like they need to play out of their element and mix their defense up more than they do. There's too much tape on the past 3 years on how to beat that cover 3. Running quarterbacks generally hurt them a lot too if they don't dedicate Wagner to spy them. On the offensive side they're going to be a mess for a while if they don't rebuild their offensive line, and good news for the rest of the NFC their left tackle is a free agent. They're missing Unger a lot more than Jimmy Graham is helping even though he had a big day. Hindsight is 20/20 as on paper the move seemed like a no brainer. Center is a lot more important to NFL offenses than they're ever given credit for. They also lost Carpenter. If they draft well to rebuild their offensive line they're going to be fine though because they have their 4 All-Pro defenders locked up for at least another 2 years.
Rivers had Woodhead wide open on 2nd and goal and went to a double covered Gates instead. Goes to Woodhead late on 4th and it gets defended. Smh
It sucks to see. He probably can complete that final pass to Woodhead if he puts more mustard on the ball too.
Forgot that Wagner was out today. I missed most of the game but caught the end. Unger hasn't even been that good for New Orleans. Trade is more or less a wash at the moment, kinda like the Alonso-for-Mccoy trade. But yeah, Seattle's O-line is amiss and so is their communication on defense. Cary Williams isn't as good as Maxwell was in this defense.
