Well he has one more year on his contract, and unless he takes a big paycut, I don't see him coming back beyond 2016. Especially with Reilly taking snaps from him.

I heard Polamalu had really lost a step, but then again I would think a second rate Polamalu would be a star LBer for us right now. The unfortunate part is last I paid any attention Urlacher was still killing it and then he was injured. This was around the time my sone was diagnosed with a disability, so I really haven't been paying attention since, but I thought Urlacher would be coming back from the Achilles injury. I had even recalled hearing about some sort of contract negotiation, but after reading Wikipedia its appears the Bears were done with him. I don't get that. It didn't seem like he lost a step, but what do I know, right?

He was declining in ability and no one was interested. If he signed a contract it may have been for 2 years max and he did not want to end his career that way.

I wasn't starting shit--was just joking with you dude.

It's all in good fun unless you take any of this too seriously.

    Ask mute about handshakes.

Coples' upside is maybe Bryan Thomas at this point, which isn't bad. Unfortunately, you have to take his penchant for boneheaded decisions out of the equation before you can reach that conclusion.

I think he's a better player than Thomas but yea, the dumbass flags are a problem. I think Thomas was a solid player too. Not great, solid starter.

Bryan Thomas is not who I want Coples comparing to. Thomas was mediocre except in contract years and stuck around with the Jets for way way too long.

Thomas was good at sealing the edge and an excellent run stopper, he never lived up to his draft billing so people consider him mediocre, which is incorrect.

It was very similar to the Anthony Becht situation, he got drafted in the first round and people thought they were getting the next Tony Gonzalez. When it turned out that he had stone hands, people were calling him a bust, even though he was a better pass and run blocker than more than half the right tackles in the league.

For me if you play for a team 10 years at a position and don't make the pro bowl at least once, you're there too long. I feel the same way about Marvin Jones ( i know he made a one). We all know the Jets can't draft nor can they develop anything. So we're left with old guys like Thomas & Pace.

Would the NFL allow the Bears to trade Bennett and Jeffrey? I can't imagine that they would.

If they are willing and able to trade Bennett, we could offer them Kerley plus a mid-round pick (3rd).

Until we draft the next joe willy, (i truly in my heart believe its Petty) I'll stand by my statement that we can't draft worth a shit/ nor develop players. But I love Mac n' Bowles thus far.

    THIS.

Our offense lacks a TE play maker and it's hurting us. Cumby is a #2 TE at best. Yep, it's a pipe dream but he's probably the only guy I'd want on that messed up team. Jeffrey's decent, but I don't think that is a major need for our team since Decker should be back after the bye. I'd rather see Devon Smith and Enuwa develop.

I see, so what you're saying is, I should skip over any of your posts that relate to football.

    Thanks for the heads up.

That's the beauty of a forum, and someone with nearly 40 thousand posts, you should very much understand that.

We might as well inquire about Walter at this point. Fuck it.

I'd look into Bennett for sure. This offense desperately needs a TE.

Alshon Jeffery and Matt Forte would be nice, but unrealistic.
