Anyone else believe 10-6 is truly realistic?

I think most Jets fans and Jets players like being the underdog anyway...

It's cool to think that...But has their ever been a time where you weren't such an optimist towards the Jets? Everything is roses with you, not that it's a bad thing in your case, but why can't the Jets go 13-3?!:rofl2:

I agree. The team absolutely does have to play better, especially on defence. Honestly our D is one of the worst in the league, it is a bad defence at this point. I attribute it to us not having good enough players up front to runa good 3-4 and the fact the we adopted the 3-4 too late and now OC's know how to deal with it.

Also, the O-line still needs consistency but they are steadily getting better. The defensice secondary also needs to improve but I dont blame the personal for this totally, it is 50/50 players and coaching IMO...I was appalled at the lack of pressure we sent at the end of the Indy game and the fact that we only got 1 sack against Detroit on Sunday....

It's feasible. But these are the Jets we're talking about. Can't outrun history that fast. My bet is to make the playoffs we'd need to win the last week and/or get some help and it'll come down some sort of excruciating Sunday with the Jets in a tight game and everyone constantly waiting for updates of games around the league.

Roba still thinks the Jets can go 16-0 this season.

Wow...that is quite the predication and if you believe that then we must be as under the radar as any team has ever been.....I think a 10-6 finish would be ridiculously above expectations, but playoffs? That would be incredible (but not entirely impossilbe...)

Problem about this 10-6 question is the Jets defense and how they play in the 4th quarter.

No way the Jets can keep winning with them playing like that.

They could blow some close games against some bad teams.

That is what I am worried about.

Incredible? I wouldn't put it that way. I'd say expected.

The Jets we're a FG away from the afc championship game only 2 yrs ago. Then in 05, we were believed to be a SB team, but were plagued with injuries. In 06, we made drastic improvements by replacing our idiot FO and making great moves to improve the team in the draft and in FA.

Which is exactly why the 06 jets should be expected to be a playoff team, as we have only improved from our 04 team. Anything short of the playoffs is a disappointment in my book.

Yeah we can win 10 games with a few breaks going our way. It'll take those breaks but it's doable. We already have one of the breaks if Washington is as good as he looks.

10 wins would be iffy for the playoffs, although I'd love to match up against KC in KC in the first week and then go to Indy in the divisional round. That'd be an interesting way to exit our rebuilding year... :)

Take it to Bank you will definetly lose to the Raiders. raiders defense is not a good matchup for Jets offense. This raider defense is way better than the 2002 version.(one that exposed Pennington) Raiders Qb Andrew walter is starting to get comfortable in the offense(get better every week and learning from the mistakes he was making early.) Not to mention not locking on to the recievers anymore. Raiders are not a team you want to be playing later in the Year. Youngest team on both sides of the ball.

Still with the Afc East being so weak and a very favorable schedule, Jets have a chance maybe to sneak into playoffs. So regardless how much Raiders destroy Jets last game of season, you shouldn't get so caught up in one game.

Line: Browns by 1.5 But remember if two teams are "equal" then the home team is generally given 3 points by the betting public. So the betting public sees the Jets as a 1.5 point fav's which cut into the Brown's 3 point at-home spread advantage.

Holy crap, who let Jeaux out of the NFL forum???

It's good to see their losing hasn't stunted your misguided optimism. The Jets are at the top of a heap of bad teams, and as such have been beating all of them accordingly. The Raiders would be near the bottom of that heap, so they will take the a good beating. Of course, the one bright spot is probably that the Jets D will make Walter look like Montana that week. Which of course will lead you to dreams of SB in your head for another off-season. The hype on Penny being exposed is just that, by the way - hype.

I have the Jets finishing @ 11-5.First we must win this game against the Browns(Must win). Then the Jets will be well prept for the return from the bye week. I think we will beat new england who may be comming off a loss to Indi. This season is reminisant to the groul year where the Jets really surprisedevery one. Hopefully it doesnt end the way the 2000 season did.

I'm conflicted with these Jets because right now, they are not a Superbowl team, but it seems if they play well, they can make the playoffs. I'd love to see them go to the playoffs, but wouldn't care if we miss it on tie breaks or if we do make it, lose in the first round. The better they do, the more they have to build on, but they just aren't contenders this year. Now, if the defense starts to play better, then my hopes might go up, but right now, I just root for the Jets to win, anything over 4-12 is gravy on my potatoes.

I thought that 9-7 was the very best that we had a chance at.
