Why do all you dumb fucks come at me like I'm the one saying this stuff? I'm just relaying you what a reporter said. I'm the messenger. Jesus Christ
It's Rex. It makes sense. He doesn't believe that you need a good QB to win, just one that is prepared to handle managing the game so his defense can dominate and win the game. So he might well believe that Manuel is the better of the two QB's with time to prepare for the opponent but the worse of the two if he's thrown in without preparation in an emergency. The real answer is to have good QB's but that requires spending high draft picks until you find one and Rex wants to spend those on defense instead. In addition to which the Bills had no 1st rounder this year due to the Sammy Watkins deal last year and the GM was invested in keeping Manuel around instead of the coach who sat him down.
Riddle me this Bills Fan... How does Rex trade away Matt Cassell to the Cowboys for a late round DP when he needs all the Qb help he can get? Is TieRod really that good cause he sure as hell didn't look all that great against NEP.
Taylor has actually looked alright but I personally will be really surprised if he makes it through 16 games healthy and or with adequate enough play to not be benched. Therefore I'd bet heavy we would/will see a backup QB getting playing time in Buffalo this season. this move assures us it will be Manuel getting that playing time not Cassel. both kinda suck hard just interesting to me that the Bills either aren't savvy enough to realize that situation is quite likely or that they think Manuel is plenty adequate insurance. or both.
Taylor actually looked good, escaped a number of would be sacks and got himself into position to fire off some nice passes - he's a playmaker. But the Manuel part as backup must mean that Cassel's arm is a thing of the past because Manuel imho is Josh Freeman 2.0 at best. I'm always reminded of Kurt Herbstreit's description of E.J. Manuel when Florida State was headed into the Orange Bowl over woefully overmatched Northern Illinois: "E.J. Manuel is capable of keeping Northern Illinois in the game." I think Bill's Overhead Doors, Piscataway, NJ doesn't have people come at him so much as they cum on him.
There's no question his team is going to get better. No question. You can count on that. Underestimate his team at your own peril. When you play Rex's team, you are going to get that team's best, so you damn well better be at your best.
Maybe he's finally learning. Buffalo fans can only hope. http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2015/09/24/rex-better-team-discipline-starts-with-me/
Why do you guys have a thread dedicated to a former headcoach? Maybe I should start a Marrone thread on bb.com.
