I wasn't quite sure what that meant by that... Seems like he's got this crew clicking. I really like his approach. Straight up..no bullshit. That's what players respond to.
what a blow. the guys averages 5.5 yards.. PER GAME in Philly.. how are they going to replace that production?
Imo, factors favoring Philly: Short week for the Jets from an upset, with the Eagles being a trap game. Bradford is settling in, and could surprise. Jets are thin at wideout esp. if Decker is out and Smith not ready. Ivory is ailing. Murray might get outside v. Jets DL - Jet OLB's not that fast. Jets have mediocre special teams. There will probably be a lot of Eagles fans there. Still, the Eagle OL is playing awful, and the Jet secondary is great. Imo it comes down to Fitzpatrick continuing to minimize mistakes.
you forgot about Sproles. He's a much bigger threat than Murray at this time, much more likely to kill us outside than a hobbled RB that I guess they consider their power back. He makes a man miss on offense or gets free on a kick return and the whole game is wrecked.
There are three things I can see that will lead to defeat on sunday. 1. Fitz implodes, throwing a few picks that put the iggles deep in our territoy / pick 6 2. We cannot establish the running game and continue to go three and out, gassing out defense and leading to some big plays over the top 3. Sproles dominates us on special teams and screens. If we maintain a solid game plan of ball control offense centered around running the ball and keeping our defense off the field, we will continue to see our dline and secondary feast on opposing qb's. If we keep having short drives like we had in indy, I think we are going to walk away with our first L of the season.
Ya Bradford really looked like he was settling in vs the Cowboys whose defense is nowhere near as talented as ours
1. Minimize mistakes in all phases not just Offense(Fitz picks QB/RB/WR fumbles); We need no blown coverages(TALKING TO YOU CRO); And don't give any good returns let alone touch downs sproles can change field position easily and our PUNTER SUCKS(Why can't we upgrade this position) 2. Set the tempo on offense; Run the ball well and get Marshall some favorable looks 3. Set the edge on defense; if we can contain the running game to under 75 yards(which i think it will be easy) I think our coverage will get us some more INTS or coverage sacks if they abandon the run 4. Play like the JETS we have seen week 1/2 it's a great looking team so far consistency is needed
I meant if Bradford "is" settling in during the Jet game. I can't rule him out coming back from hardly playing hte last two years. Look at Carson Palmer. Sure Palmer was only out the end of last year, but he's playing as well as anyone coming back from injury. For Bradford, assuming he stays healthy, he will play better as the year goes on. The question is when does he.
Jordan Matthews has been struggling a lot this season, especially after dropping that pass that ended up an interception in the Falcons game. Agholor while talented, hasn't done shit yet.
Geno is fully cleared and might be active Sunday. Asked who will be the backup, between he and Petty, Bowles said "whoever is playing better."
Yeah man, to all of this. I will add that Sproles could give this team fits out of the back field and at some point not having a TE on the roster that can catch a cold is concerning. People kept talking about an angry Colts team last week, but I didn't buy into that. This Eagle team is desperate and to me that's much more of a concern. This feels like a trap game all the way. The Jets are riding high and Philly is about as low as any team in the league - in my opinion this is not the position that previous Jet teams have done well in. Hell, I was cringing during the pre-game when everybody except one of the ESPN crew picked the Jets. Having said that, I give Bowles the benefit of having never been at the helm of one of these classic Jet meltdowns, so we'll see...
