All we've been begging for is average QB play and folks are complaining?

Did Fitzpatrick throw screen passes for interceptions - no. Did he hold on to the ball too long - no. Did he throw ANY balls right into the hands of the defense - no. He stuck with the game plan and did a great job!

Of course. Judging a team is just mental gymnastics.

Fitz is not winning us a SB but as long as we're playing games, I'd like to still be playing meaningful ones deep into September.

I'll concede that Luck is better than any player on the Jets. And that's why I was very worried that he could somehow find a way to steal the game away from us last night. Sure I'd love a guy like Luck on my team. And Indy has built their franchise around two great Qbs. But I don't mind having a game manager if he's efficient. And not keep breaking in young Qbs who end up losing games while learning how to play the position.

And as an added bonus, Petty gets to sit and watch how a Savvy Qb that knows his limitations manages a game successfully.

The shame of it for luck is is that GM has done an AWFUL job building that team around him.

Rather than building a line like Dallas did for Romo they go out an sign ancient players like Gore and Johnson and as much as I love Philip Dorsett, why draft him rather than line help when they knew they were going to resign Hilton.

They did him a huge disservice.

People want Chan Gailey fired after 2 games ... took advantage of Decker as he had 8 catches in the first half, when was the last time a Jets WR did that? In the past we took on teams that had shit secondaries and we never took advantage. We took advantage yesterday, didn't completely take advantage, but plays were made.

Can't wait to see Devin Smith, but Fitz has to know his limitations.

I suspect that many of the Fitz complainers are Geno fans or closet Geno fans. My message to them is simple. Go home, you're drunk.

The Browns are a pretty good defense against the pass. If Shelton is real they're a pretty good defense period.

In some way I'd prefer a veteran Qb rather than developing a rookie. Because of the high percentage of top first round picks at Qb who don't make it. If Mariota had fallen to overall # 6, I would have taken him even though some evaluators said he might not be a great NFL Qb. But I wouldn't have traded the ranch for him. We did make a great choice at #6 in Leonard Williams who surprisingly the Redskins didn't select.
I always thought that Grigson was a very good GM for the Colts from the very start. But there are apparently problems between him and the HC this year about player evaluation and one or both of them might end up going after this season. Maybe something like the dysfunction on the Jets last season supposedly between Idzik and Rex. Plus their owner as we all know is a basket case.

    Better 2-0 than 1-7.

I think those talent evaporators need to find new jobs. I've watched tapes of both his first 2 games--he is going to be a special player and very soon. He's going to be the next generation Aaron Rogers.

Before you guys bash the Amish Rifle for ineptitude:

Fitzpatrick is having better year thus far than:

    Peyton Manning
    Eli Manning
    Drew Brees
    Matthew Stafford
    Joe Flacco
    Sam Bradford
    Andrew Luck

    Not bad, eh?

It was a joke about playing "deep into september".

Last year we were knocked out by early October and were 1-7 at one point.

    That's really not fair though.

Such a small sample size and you'd take every one of those guys over Fitz in a second.

Look, we don't know that for sure. They said the same thing about a string of top rated Qbs and for one reason or another they were unsuccessful. Derek Carr's brother was a much higher rated Qb prospect than he is and so far he looks like he's the better player. But the report card is still Incomplete on both of them.
