Do you think that maybe some of that interest is due to Ryan? Fine if you don't like him but he was good for the Jets and he's good for the Bills in increasing fan interest. The jury is still out on what else he was good for.

I think the real reason for the increase in season tickets was the Pegulas buying the team and being committed to keeping them in WNY. No longer do they have to worry about relocation rumors as they had in the past. Looking forward to NE vs BUF on Sunday and then of course our game Monday night.

I just wonder how Rex talked the Pegulas into hiring him after his team was murdalized 3 times in a row by the Bills. Including the Snow Bowl in Detroit when the Bills coaches and players had little time to prepare or practice. Why would they hire a coach who got his ass kicked by their team. You usually hire someone who makes an impression not an opponent's head coach you soundly defeated. But anyways, their daughter is a good tennis player.

Rex is the reason for all the buzz in Buffalo. He sells tickets as well as any coach in football. That's why Woody Johnson wanted to keep him so badly. You don't throw away a marketable asset until you're sure it's time and last year it was finally time.

Rex says this is his last gig in Buffalo but if he's out of there in 3 years I'll almost guarantee a team in need of marketing will make a big play for him. It might even be the Fins by then.

That is pretty sad indeed. I always thought when I go to a game that it is the players I am going to watch.

4 years straight no playoffs. 4-12 his last year. Inherited a good team like he did in Buff.

It's a combination of things. It started when the Pegulas took over. Then the team had their first winning season in years and a great defense. Then we hired Rex Ryan and the first real offensive coordinator we've had in a decade, and then we added players like LeSean McCoy, Percy Harvin, Charles Clay, Tyrod Taylor, Richie Incognito, etc. All of that together is why people are excited and buying tickets.

And what did the GM do to help him win in those 4 years we missed the playoffs? Nothing.

Nope. I too dont understand since you know we are still in NY state. They can at least show the Bills while the JETS are to play on MNF! Instead CBS FALL Preview will air..

Fox has the double-header and NFL rules say you can't air a competing game in the home market. In this case, that would be the Giants v. Falcons at 1.

Well that's not true. He had 2 GMs and with the first at least had a lot of say if not most in personnel decisions. Tannenbaum basically defaulted to both Rex and Eric when he was GM here and I don't think he's totally involved in player personnel in Miami. Of course he's boss over their GM. He got plenty of good players to work with and the team last year was expected by most including those of us on this board to be at least an 8-8. He inherited a pretty good team in Buff and I hope they win this week. But Rex deserved to get the boot here.
