I said I'd be back to read your drivel and you have not disappointed. Are you that stupid that you do not understand the difference between what the organization did to bury this and what I have NEVER said? Really? Can you not understand the difference? Whoops indeed. You're definition of "sucker punching" is so far out of what most adult males consider "sucker punching" it defies discussion. Read the thread. You're wrong. He got cold cocked for being a dick. You have completely missed the entire concept of what happened and they dynamics around a team and a corporate entity. Well done, you lost the internet today. Try back tomorrow. _
Meh, IDK, I think criticizing Geno Smith for expressing anger at having his jaw broken by a teammate is much to do about nothing. I think, for the most part, the reactions in this thread are all about who Geno is and not what he actually said or did.
Genofan wants to defend Geno at all costs. He got cold cocked and knocked out with one punch for being a dick. Not sucker punched from left field. Bowles even said, and I quote--"he got cold cocked". That's a direct quote. The mountain of evidence supports it. _
It tells us that you need to take into consideration everything that was said and reported and rumored--both on the record and off the record and then make you own conclusions. If you think Geno was the innocent bystander sitting on his locker stool and got attacked out of no where when there is ample evidence on both sides that it was a bit more than that--believing he was completely innocent is naive. We are men. Let's not be naive. Well, most of us are men. There are some naive pussy's here. _
LOL, read your own words, friend. The content and corresponding context are right there. You are confusing yourself. What's particularly amusing about this (other than the fact that you STILL haven't refuted my definition with anything concrete) is that the article itself uses the phrase "sucker punch" to describe the incident in the very first sentence. "It's been more than a month since the early portion of Geno Smith's season was derailed by a locker room sucker punch, and it appears he's still trying to come to terms with what happened." I wonder if Austin Knoblauch is an adult male? Nice try, but your snide remarks do nothing to change the verity that your basic argument is illogical and not supported by the weight of evidence available to us on the subject at hand. Your rationale for how the Jets were "putting out a fire" is convoluted at best.
". . . sucker punched, whatever you want to call it." For some reason, you are obsessively caught up in a semantical, nuanced argument based on some quintessential difference between being "cold cocked for being a dick" and being "sucker punched." It's just silly. (Isn't it rather telling that the guy you keep incessantly quoting made no distinction between those two phrases? Maybe, just maybe, you are putting too much into the supposedly stark distinction between the two)
There is not an iota of a logical flaw in anything I've said. You just can't understand how wildly off the discussion you've spiraled. It's embarrassing. You keep defending the indefensible (which you still don't understand lol), keep plugging away chief. You got your panties in a twist because I pointed out something nonsensical you said and you can't let it go. Poor slimjasi. _
HAHAHAHAHAAAA who the fuck is Austin Knoblach and if he wasn't there, what does this add to your "mountain of evidence"? Absolutely nothing. _
Again, you keep writing how badly off topic I've gotten, and yet, you actually haven't shown how. I think you think if you make enough witty, snide, cool-sounding remarks that people won't actually analyze what is being written. Your posts are funny on the surface but more or less bereft of any real insight.
How the hell would he know? Oh right, because of half of Bowles quote. Well done, thanks for agreeing with my comment from 4 pages ago. _
I don't think anyone here seriously believes Geno was a totally innocent bystander, but I DO think there are people here who recognize that it is quite possible to not be completely innocent in a given dispute and still be the victim of a sucker punch.
OK, so how does this help your position again? If you label me as a "Geno defending fool" does that suddenly make your point of view any more logically sound?
You keep obsessively harping on the Bowles quote, but I have discussed ad nauseum why that quote wasn't very relevant, particularly within the context of quotes from various players, quotes from the GM, and the Jets immediate dismissal of IK. And what's worse, that quote doesn't even support your point of view. Bowles clearly made no distinction between the phrases "sucker punch" and being "cold cocked," and yet, you are adamant that somehow there is a fundamentally wide gap between the two. Again, that argument is highly semantical and many would disagree with it. There are obviously a lot of people who would say that Geno got "sucker punched" and there are obviously a lot of others who would say no such thing. That debate really doesn't leave us with much to go on.
