Sure he was pencilled in as the starter when the only Qb they could find in FA who was decent was also coming off an f'ing broken leg. It's not like he ever beat out Fitz in a fair competition on the merits. So it's not like he EARNED being the starter. And it's also not like he had no responsibility for what happened with IK. This shit didn't just happen to someone who was solidly in place as the Jet starting Qb. His implication that it was shows me just more of the same from Smith - a person with a sense of entitlement who has no perspective and almost certainly never will. Perhaps if he was a proven talent he could overcome thos problems but since he's mediocre, it's not happening.
You of course make perfect sense, but what's missing on Smith is I don't think he understands his situation. I don't think he gets that his career is at risk. I think he thinks once he's physically ready, they're going to give him back the starting job. Now of course in a nightmare scenario it is possible Fitzpatrick is sucking or gets hurt, and Smith goes in instead of Petty. but short of that they're not just gong to give him the job back. It will be interesting to see how he reacts at that point.
I'd like to know the whole story. Did Geno go out of his way to flaunt that he wasn't going to pay IK back? Or did he just forget about it and IK decided to try to publicly embarrass him in the locker room causing a confrontation or what?

Heh! I was wondering if the alternative is he's really not, and he's acting this way as some kind of well thought out strategy to achieve some logical goal. For about 5 seconds. No, he's a pouter.
I have thought that since the minute we drafted him and he slunk across the stage with that skowl on his face like we didn't do him any favors. And when was the last time you saw any starting QB refuse to look at the pictures they have sent down from upstairs when the offense isn't on the field. Not once in 2 years did I see him do that.
It doesn't matter anymore. You know you should never punch a quarterback or even a fellow teammate, that's a lack of discipline. And Geno shouldn't be getting punched, especially by a fringe player...that's a lack of leadership on Geno's part. I was upset about it before, but now we are 1-0 and the team looks prepared. So...enjoy the bench Geno...and be ready if your number is called.

debts a debt. and geno was a scumbag about it. and it isnt just the money... he committed to going to the guys football camp. then refused to reimburse him for it all after being a no show. then put his finger in his face and said he wasnt going to do anything about it. also, last time i checked its not a sucker punch when someone gets up in your face talking garbage. a sucker punch is when you come from out of sight and blindside the guy.
