Buffalo has majorly upgraded their coaching staff imo.. Hopefully Rex will do us (and the league) a big solid this week by taking Br*dy out at the knees.. pull out all the stops and hit him until he folds.
Average days?!?! Gailey was Rex's bitch.......Gailey was 1-5 against Rex. One win was the last game of the seasons when both teams were eliminated from the playoffs.......only one game was even close. Those games fueled my hatred for the Jets!
Rex and Thurman have Gailey and Fitz's number, no doubt. There is familiarity there on both sides though so it should be an interesting chess match. Advantage definitely to Buffalo.
Too many other new parts involved to give it too much credence. You can also say that Bowles, as head coach, has beat Rex every time he faced him, he also beat Buffalo every time he has faced them. Sure, stretching it but it is many weeks before they face off and much to see before then.
Why is this a thread? Man, beating Rex would be sweet. Going to be tough though. Rex gets up for big games like opening day, or the Patriots. Surely he will add the Jets to that list.
Heard today that the Bills have sold more season tickets this year than anytime in their history - even after their Super Bowl years.
Rex vs Gailey/Fitz spanned three seasons though, so that's a trend. Bowles vs Rex was one game there's not enough there for one to have a take. Although Bowles D definitely brought it that day I remember Sanchez couldn't even complete a screen pass.
Rex inherited a very very good defense (4th last year in total defense) with a lot of talent, same as he did with the Jets. He will have a decent Buffalo team for a few years primarily because it's already stacked with talent and he is good at initially motivating a team. However, a few years of making personnel decisions will strip the team of talent, same as we saw here and his act will get old fast in Buffalo, especially when a mediocre season or two removes all his confidence and swagger, his Jets teams took on his persona. Brash and bold at the beginning, and then weak and depressed at the end. His coaching style works great when you're winning, but when you hit hurdles and start losing it's devastating and impossible to come back from.
Jets D was terrible the year before Rex got here. the talent was good, but the difference was coaching. they went from poor to best in the league. Buffalo's D was very good before Rex got there, so slightly different situation. but they never looked as dominant as they did last week. again, that is the coaching.
I'm really looking forward to the Jets-Bills games. Hopefully both teams are still in it week 10 and we get a major hype event going with Rex taking up all the air space and selling tickets and Bowles and the Jets quietly preparing to wipe the grin off of his face in the cone of silence around the team.
