Based on "experts" opinions, which team do you think will do better than expected and which team do you think will do worse than expected
experts are all dropping to their knees for the Indy Colts this year and I could see them being a disappointment. No one expects much from the Raiders but I could see them making a little noise in the West. 8-8 would be overachieving for them and I could see that happening.
Underachieve --> Denver Broncos. Manning is another year older. They have 4 new offensive linemen and they lost a big weapon in Julius Thomas Overachieve --> Homerism or not, I don't care. The Jets. All Fitzpatrick needs to do is be DECENT. A middle of the road kind of guy. With a good defense we will be in every game. He got a $60 million deal under Chan Gailey in Buffalo throwing to schmucks. He was having a terrific year last year before he got hurt and he finally has some offensive talent around him. Vegas has the Jets O/U at 7.5 -- I think they get 9.
Vikings. Finished 7-9 and 3rd place in the NFCN and are picked to finish 3rd again. They could contend for a WC this year. I think Oakland and Jacksonville will be better too. _
I think Tampa will "overachieve" this year as well. They tanked on purpose last year anyway. They weren't your usual 2-14 team. Now they got Winston who I think has the ability to make a big impact right out of the gate and 2 tremendous weapons for young QBs in Mike Evans & Vincent Jackson. easy division, easy schedule. I wouldn't be surprised if Lovie Smith can get that defense going if they don't contend for their division title. (in that division it means 9-7/8-8 ish)
Idk about the Vikings myself. tough division. I don't think they have the horses available to stretch much beyond where they finished last year
I think Oakland has a good year and makes the playoffs. The Patriots have lots and lots of holes in the ship. I don't see how they pull it together for a SB run.
It's more hope (or rather faith) on my part that Teddy shows more improvement and AP has a massive year. _
Everyone and there mother is calling the Vikings a "sleeper", are they really even a sleeper at this point? I think they're a 10 win team. Great defense, AP, maturing Teddy and a deep threat in Wallace. I've read a couple pieces on how good the Chargers are going to be this year. I don't see it. They'll underachieve based on those predictions. I like the Chiefs to be a surprise better than them. Raiders should take a huge step forward and the Bears could be less horrendous than people project.
I think the opposite. They're my underachiever pick. Expectations are so high because of Jameis but he's gonna go down in flames fast.
I think the Chiefs are going to be a very solid team this year. They will surprise people I think the Eagles are going to be an absolute mess this year.
Underachieve: Giants, Dolphins, Bucs Giants and Bucs will be picking top 10 again, maybe even higher. Winston will struggle majorly. Dolphins will miss the playoffs, and won't have a winning record. Overachieve: Vikings, Jets, Bills these teams will be sneaky tough to beat, and all have a good chance to finish with winning records despite playing in tough divisions.
Under: Dolphins Everything points to them being a monster breakout team. Similar to the Gary Kubiak Texans, I believe they are poorly coached and will be disappointed with the results yet again as the hype doesn't match the reality. Over: Raiders They've been in the cellar of that division for so long that they aren't really on the radar anymore. I believe this is the season they emerge from the shadows and become a playoff contender again.
Underachieve: Cardinals and Bills; I've seen many mention the Bills as a potential playoff team, I don't see it. They were extremely fortunate in many close games last season and I'd like to think a bounce or two won't go their way this season ; they also have one of the worst offensive lines in football. Overachieve: Dolphins; they've been mentioned as a break out team, but most believe they'll finish in the wild card spot or so. I think they'll dethrone the Patriots and win the AFC East.
Why????? I'd put more money on the fish finishing last in the division than I would first! That loss to us in the finale last year reminded me of the 2011 Jets. Fringe playoff team implodes horribly To end the season. Tries to just regroup the following year and go at it again with the same leadership but falls apart at the first experience of adversity
I think the Dolphins are going to be damn good this year and make the playoffs. I also agree on Oakland being good. I think the Cardinals will take a big step back this year.
