That's exactly it, it comes from the fact that Boston will forever be in the shadow of great cities like New York, Chicago, LA, San Francisco, Miami and San Diego. The reality is it's a second rate city with some nice historical attractions. In line with cities like Philadelphia, and Oakland. Not quite as cool as Seattle and Portland and not as important as Washington DC.

Basically Massholes are the episode of the Simpsons where Bart cuts off the head of the Jebidiah Springfield statue thinking it will gain him validation from the bullies of course not realizing the bullies don't associate with scumbags.

I'm not angry--I'm reveling in the misery your douchebag QB and coach and owner have rained down on Pats fans collective heads.

You can't enjoy your ill gotten gains because no one respect those tainted wins.

Why else are you hear other than to gloat and seek validation?

    It's never coming.

This whole thing looks like the other shoe is dropping. If GODell was covering up fro the Pats then everything happening today should be the sword he falls on to "protect the shield." And If Kraft really was pulling the strings and the Pats have been getting away with Shady activity (as many have assumed for well over a decade) it could be the Pats arrogance through this whole thing that finally pushed people over the edge. as for why you after T*m and not B*ll, A very steep standard was set in spygate if B*ll was caught cheating again. If the rumor is true he would have been banned from football Pete Rose style.

I read that article from ESPN. There's an awful lot there, but perhaps the main takeaway from it had to do with Goodell's motives in downplaying Spygate, as follows:

"Goodell didn't want anybody to know that his gold franchise had won Super Bowls by cheating," a senior executive whose team lost to the Patriots in a Super Bowl now says. "If that gets out, that hurts your business."

Now on one level that was a motive separate from the general alliance Goodell had developed with Kraft that was so well described elsewhere in the article - Kraft's role in determining Goodell's compensation and his elevation to commissioner being obvious connections. But it is also not for nothing that Goodell had to realize that cheating by the Pats was ultimately a real risk to the integrity, and value, of the league, for all the owners and for him.

But here's the question for us as fans - You read about how the outcome of games was affected by things like Spygate, and now that Kraft is in open warfare with Goodell and the league, the defending Super Bowl champs and all that, then how much should we as fans care about the nature of hte product we follow?

How much should we care about the NFL if this is the way it has been run?

The best part about this is all these massholes thought Thursday night was going to be some crowning event--SB trophy and Brady being "vindicated" but now all they are going to be talking about is MORE cheating.

It doesn't get more delicious than this.

I may make New England Clam Chowder for dinner thursday.

Damn right you do. That's why you're here. If you really truly didn't give a shit, you wouldn't bother posting here. Your teams SB wins are tainted...you know it, the country knows it, and NFL history knows it. You put up this front and tell yourself the ends justify the means, but deep down you know your shitty coach had to cheat and your "not as good as you thought he was" QB Tom Brady needed to cheat so he could put up good numbers and help his team win. Your team is a fraud, your so-called success is a fraud. ESPN has been kissing the Pat's ass for years, but now suddenly they're trying to bring you down? Sure, pal. Keep telling yourself that. Keep telling yourself you really did make your girl orgasm and that she didn't fake it. We all know the real truth.

Really a shame the cheatriots first road game is in Buffalo and not Oakland or NY or maybe even Cleveland...still Rex may have that crowd geared up enough that the reception will be worth watching.

It's funny, when my Devils won Stanley Cups the last place I thought to go was to a rivals board.

When my Mets won in 1986, I couldn't give a shit about the Yankees or their fans or any other rival.

When Cuse won in 2003--I never went on a UNC or Duke or UConn board.

And when the Jets win a SB--the LAST place I'll go to get a reaction is Patsfag.com.

    It's pathetic.

My theory on this is that BB is a cunthair away from a Pete Rose style banning. No evidence whatsoever to back this up, mind you, just a hunch. Both Wells and Goodell went a-way out of their way to avoid implicating him at all. That just doesn't make any sense to me.

Once again Pats fans all over cannot enjoy their tainted championship because their scumbag franchise took it away from them.

Being crowned "world champ" means the rest of the world should respect you accomplishments. But in this instance, like every other one, that respect is not forthcoming.

If I were a Pats fan I'd be pissed at my team, not running to a rivals board to gloat--but looking like losers instead.

First of all I now live in San Francisco. And come on now, New York is an absolute dump. Cool in the 1980's irrelevant in the 2015's. Those buildings are like tombstones to the ghosts who built them. The street level is a giant Westfield shopping mall. There's absolutely no spirit there anymore. Nothing new comes from there. Those people are all gone.

Yes it is. You and are in 100% agreement about this. But Patsie fans know the truth, and it eats at them. All the cheating in the world, and they STILL needed a tuck rule and a bad call to win. They suck. The 80's 49ers and 90's Cowboys would wipe the floor with this so-called patriots dynasty. Hell, the '68 Jets would as well.

Rex has that city on fire. I jumped the border to shop a few weeks ago and even the mall was pumped with energy and people rocking Bills gear in all directions, the town literally is talking about nothing else. Buffalo is a blue collar town with a loud mouth blue collar coach and i can guarantee the Ralph will be hostile week 2.

That's a good point and I mentioned a few week ago in another thread that my son who is 30 and his friends have totally stopped having anything to do with the NFL..between the bullshit thursday ganes and saturday games and monday games and the primetime everything (now it's primetime media day during the SB this year) it's more like hollywood then it is a sport...they moved on to the NHL which at least is real to sime degree if not completely.
