Nobody will be summoned for anything numb nuts. If the league appeals they will be arguing Berman's case for overturning, which is about the process.

maybe James Harrison can bail out Goddell on opening day.
That would be ironic karma on so many levels.

It'd be funny if they just started Garoppolo anyway.

unfortunately i think you are right.
this fight was not about truth or cheating once it got to Federal court, which is exactly what Br*dy's team was relying on.

Under the CBA, players have not been put on notice that if they cheat, they can/will be suspended. Under the CBA, players have not been put on notice that if they willfully conceal and destroy evidence that could be used in an investigation, they can/will be suspended.

Brady is a cheating, lying, scumbag, but can't be suspended for it because he wasn't put on notice. The Patriot Way.

Goodell doing damage control by saying the NFL will appeal the decision.

Do the 31 other owners truly believe this guy isnt in Kraft's pocket? He's probably in his will.

That was the NFL owner's narrative.

The Tagliabue reference was because he shit all over Goodell's ruling and overturned all the players suspensions in Bountygate. He said no player had ever been suspended for no cooperating. Try to keep up.

I think he has to. The implications of not are profound totally unrelated to Tom Brady. I think it's funny that this stupid ball pressure issue is ripping the league in two.

It's more idiotic than I could have ever imagined.

    And here we go-
Greg Hardy now thinking about taking the Brady route:

Hope Sheldon Richardson is sober enough to think this one through. if he gets any additional games for his joyride he should take it right to federal appeals. I mean, I don't think theres a precedent for anyone driving 140 mph with a 14 year old yet in this league

This is the stupidest post on here today. And that is saying something.

Because you always take a 1st and a 4th round draft pick from a team and fine the owner $1mil when you want to stay on his good side.

Yeah he has to but its not going to do anything positive. All it does is start this season the same way last season ended.

Its beyond just the ball pressure though. Its the fact that its always the Patriots and they always skate on it. Other owners are sick of it.

exactly. Sheldon wasn't put on notice that he could potentially be suspended for driving at that speed while evading police.

I am going to miss BurningElvii when he slinks back to SteelCurtainRulez.com... never quite seen someone be so wrong on so many things that it brought hated rivals to agreement.

Regarding decision, my favorite part is the repeated mocking/trolling by Berman's use of quotation marks over and over and over when referring to the Wells report as "independent". So good. And, kinda, you know... goes to the heart of everything that has occurred here.

Carry on BurningElvii and Stokes. As you were.

Kraft offered that punishment. The same way Brady offered to pay a fine.

But Goodell probably got so much grief from the other owners that he had to do something more.

If it was any other team Brady would've got a year. No doubt in my mind about that. Bountygate was way less of a scandal/crime and those punishments were insane. Its a double standard.

Goodell made it seem like he was on the side of the owners the entire time. That couldn't have been further from what is actually going on though.

You think the Pats really gave a fuck about a draft pick when Brady's ass/reputation was on the line? Wake up.

I don't think the owners care much about who wins or loses the actual football games, they measure their wins in other ways. Kinda like Vince McMahon doesn't care if a "good" guy or "bad" guy wins a wrestling match.

They get paid either way. Manipulating public opinion is more important in that scenario than anything resembling fairness or legitimacy.

The posts I'm reading today should make that obvious, BurningElvii, people like that.

But it's not always the Patriots. It's always just made a bigger deal when it's the Patriots.

Kraft didn't offer the punishment. He accepted it after initially contemplating fighting it. Don't let facts get in the way of a ridiculous rant though.
