Frank Zappa once told Alice Cooper. "Alice. Either you get it -- or you don't get it." There really is no halfway with Zappa. I consider him a personal hero and always will.
One of my favorite guitar rifts and the first Zappa song I ever heard. I remember hearing this in a dorm room in 1979 sophomore year of college and being wowed. _
Just got the new Willy Deville Anthology in the mail. Rock, R&B, Doo-woop, Spanish beats, Cajun tunes..... Dude was waaaay ahead of the curve.
Kind of a bitch move to name a genre, especially since you look to have been trying to get reactions out of people. You here to be a stupid fuckhead troll, or to be a member of this community?
Nothing says guido band and lounge lizzard like Styx and Dennis de Young respectively. de Young's guido quotient makes Steve Perry look like Tom Waits - he's fucking Liberace with a bad hair piece. As for "Chicago's greatest," Terry Kath could play rings around them. Just ask (ref. to) your boy Jimi Hendrix. WPDH? Poughkeepsie is not "tri-state" area, it's mid-Hudson valley. You're lost Vasco de Young. Clearly the Idiot Bastard Son.
I don't particularly care for Country but my daughter went to see Zach Brown last week at Citifield and liked them so much they bought tix and is heading up to Saratoga on Sunday for a show. I may have to give them a listen. _
NO, He's right. Country has sold out to become POP music. Period. When Bocephus and David Allen (sp?) Coe have given way to It's done
Just don't listen to that pop country bullshit. I listen to a lot of classic stuff and I also find a lot that they don't play on the radio because it's not "bro" enough.
I heard Come Sail Away on the radio in a rental car over the weekend. May be the most embarassingly bad stretch of music ever recorded in the history of humanity. How anybody can listen to that and still believe in a just and merciful god is beyond me.
