He was returning punts because Kerley had a concussion but I agree, it was preseason and unnecessary.

I think all 8 WR will make the final team...... At least until Devin Smith is ready to play..... If one goes it will probably be Shaq Evans...... He's the only one who hasn't shown anything......

He was good in Denver, and Bowles told him to just fair catch every punt. It might happen during the season if Kerley is hurt, so why not practice it?

Because when you muff it you can get killed..practice it in practice and not a preseason game.

No way McDougle gets cut in his second year. Or Pryor. We should riot if that happens.

A riot if a should-have-been 7th rounder gets cut? Get a grip. McDougle is a 6th corner at best on this team after Revis Cro Skrine Williams and Milliner

A 6'2 225 convert that can catch and block is still better than a 6'4 260 TE that can do neither consistently, and at times, at all. Cumberland is a glorified ballerina in a gorillas body.

Not to mention Enunwa can fill in as a wideout or a TE/HB depending on injuries (of which Kerley and Smith both are for the time being). Enunwa is valuable right now, as a stop gap with potential for both positions. Let the man play.

Thanks for your response. You could be right, but I'd be surprised about Winters. He seems to have done a pretty solid job as the 2nd strong RG. That said, if they can find a camp cut who is a definite upgrade, I'd welcome it.

McDougle has had his ups and downs, but at least he's healthy, is young, and cheap, so I'd really be surprised if he winds up being cut. I'd like to see him stick and get a shot.

Bowles has gone out of his way to praise Bohanon, and particularly since neither Cumberland nor Amaro are adept at blocking, I would think Bohanon has a very good chance of sticking as a blocking back, but it wouldn't break my heart to see him cut. In general, I don't like Wake Forest players. I think that most of them are over-achievers in college, and just don't have the talent for the NFL level.

Cumberland I'd be happy to see gone. In fact, I'm really hoping that a vet TE the Jets like is cut by some team and the Jets pick him up and cut Cumberland loose. I don't like Amaro, but he was a 2nd round pick, is still young and has some potential if he'll quit being so soft and man up. I'm thinking that with Cumberland being so bad, and Amaro injured, questionable, and more of an HBack than TE, that Davis sticks for his blocking and experience alone.

If I remember correctly Amaro looked much improved blocking during camp. We just haven't seen it in action yet. I still have high hopes for him.

I don't get the lack of love for Kerley. Guy had been nothing but professional and productive. I think Kerley could have a nice year with the beard throwing the ball around. If they were to move him or worse cut him I would hate to see what he does with a good QB.

What a catastrophic disaster Idzik turned out to be our message board could have drafted BPA and hit on 50% of those 12 picks but hey on the bright side we saved a ton of money by switching to geico

McDougle was the jets biggest draft reach in years--Of course the fact that rex ryan thinks CB is the only position on the field had NOTHING to do with it.

I was impressed with Giants TE Jerome Cunningham #86. He is listed 4th on their depth chart. Just a name to watch for in the next two weeks

But, but, but the front office had a plan, it's not like you know anything since you aren't a professional like he is

How dare you second guess our awesome front office, just you see Geno Smith will make the pro bowl, waaaaahhhh!

Yeah he caught my eye too. Giants always seem to have good players at the tight end position.

The thing about Posey is he had very little upside despite his good preseason performances. He doesn't do much of anything with special teams, he's a veteran, he has an injury history, and his catching ability is good, but not any significantly more good than other WR bubble players.

Quincy Enunwa is involved in blocking and Special teams
Walt Powell is heavily involved in special teams
Chris Owusu is heavily involved in special teams and has made plays
Shaq Evans has upside as a rookie

If you compare DeVier to the bubble players above, his roster spot isn't doing much for this team. We often see this guys play late in preseason games, but in actuality DeVier will most likely sit on the sideline unless there's an injury to the top 5 WRs. Meanwhile, these other guys are always contributing on special teams. Is DeVier better at catching the ball? Arguable. But even if he is, he isn't exactly Jerry Rice out there. He's not shown enough uspide catching to outweight his deficit of other contributions.

Now, I don't think Shaq Evans makes this team for similar reasons. He hasn't shown much in games and doesn't do much of anything on special teams. That's why I think Enunwa, Owusu, and Powell make this roster.

Winters ability to play center in a pinch will likely keep him off the chopping block.

    Side bar: Bohanon can't block.

I'm not surprised. I was just going on what Bowles has said about him in camp and the fact that he's a FB and supposedly those guys can block.
