Coples is a bust. He was lazy at UNC, and he is lazy here. However, he has a great view of the action as he is always standing there watching it happen. Maybe he truly yearns to be a referee.
Petty played well in the second half and really showcased his arm strength - nowhere near ready to face a 1st team offense in a regular season game but looked good and with time could be an above average starter
I'm sure you mean face a first team defense but anyway he reminds me a lot of Favre, huge arm and not afraid to throw the ball downfield like every other qb we have had in the last 10 years (Favre excluded of course). A couple throws were off target and a couple should have been caught and weren't but I would love to see him throwing to our 1s for a couple of series but that probably won't happen.
Our starting defense is still atrocious (cue the "it's only preseason" apologists) and they gave two weeks to get it fixed. Obviously without Wilkerson and Richardson we can't stop a nosebleed.
This is it. If the defense doesn't get better significantly soon, and become at least close to elite. We are a 2-14 team. Period. Everything else was OK
