Please don't let him take too many preseason snaps away from Petty. He's a backup and slightly injured. Let him sit back and bring him in only when needed. Want to see Petty play 3 quarters again. _
Same here, but Flynn will probably steal a QTR or two from Petty now. Macc said today they didn't really plan on letting Petty play this year. If he's ready to go let him play, he didn't look bad in his first game.
I can't imagine we'll see him at all this week. He has 2 days to get situated with the new team and pick up the entire offense. Plus he's still battling the hamstring injury. My guess is he doesn't even suit up on Friday. We'll probably see a bunch more of Petty vs. the Falcons, which I'm looking forward to. We won't see much of Petty week 3 as Fitzpatrick will probably play the first half and give way to Flynn so he can get himself acquainted, but then week 4 Petty will play a lot again. He won't be stealing all of Petty's reps from him but there definitely will be a little bit of give.
This is a smart no downside signing. Just not sure what this means for BP's reps. I'm not sure how he is going to pan out long term (BP), but I think it was a unique situation in which we got to throw him in the fire and play most of the game.
Now we have 2 quarterbacks on the roster who have thrown 6 touchdowns in a game. Who says we don't have a QB!
I get that he's not slated to play this year but I want him to get as many preseason snaps as possible. I don't really need Flynn to play a lot this preseason. _
