Time will tell about that. I can see Fitz getting booed and people calling for Geno. I don't see this coaching staff giving up on Geno that fast. If they was going to do that he would had never been named the starter already.

I have a feeling that Fitz will probably go down and we'll be forced to go with Geno down the stretch . As much a I was looking forward to see if smith would finally put it together this year not wanting to see Fitz under center, I've finally come to terms with this and am willing to ride with fitz.

No, he did not sign a 3 year rookie deal. It was 4 years. He is under contract for 2016.

Think positive. FITZMAGIC is here to stay. My hope is that he plays great this year. Named the starter for 2016, then gives way to Bryce Petty. That would be ideal.

After there are pics of him tonight in a Jets jersey, I hope some people photoshop some FITZMAGIC, Amish Rifle, and Broadway Beard pics. The Ivy League comes to Florham Park!!!

Yea you're right. I don't know much about Petty but a lot of people (even non jets fans) seemed to impressed when we got him. Still don't get why he fell all the way to the 4th.
It still pisses me off that we finally had a solid team in place AND a young rising QB who we have been waiting 2 years for him gain game experience . Feels like giving up and starting over from scratch.

Yeah, that part is tough. Starting over is never easy. Jets do it way too often too. As for Petty, he dropped because of the offense he played in college. Doesn't translate well to the NFL. The hope is he will be able to. It takes time though.

It is what it is, I'm not trashing Fitz I think he fills the role that we need from him this year. But I'd rather see how Geno looks in this new offense. I'm not excited about Fitz, but that's who's the QB now so I have to support him.

I know you got some sort of gratification on making this post lol. Geno had me fooled into thinking he was turning the corner, but it appears everything from him dropping in the draft, the late meetings, and now this - it appears Geno really hasn't changed at all. The guy that started the altercation w/ IK is not the same guy I saw during the Green and White Scrimmage post-game interview.

Oh well though. Nothing wrong with admitting you were wrong. Geno won't even do that.

Can Fitz be like Testaverde? A journeyman who had a career year in his first year with the Jets at a late age? I sure as hell hope so. Is Fitz arm really that bad? I don't recall him stretching the field much in Buffalo

I get your point, but I was really trying to point out how stand up you were. For my own gratificaiton I get more than enough of that watching things turn out in accordance with my overall views. Heh.

But in general it happens too rarely on message boards when people in effect admit they need to change their position in light of the facts. Good for you.

I believe last year's broken tibia was the first occsion leading to Fitzpatrick missing games in his NFL career. I don't think it accurate to imply he's fragile.

Because no QB ever started out immature and grew and eventual learned to become a leader. Plenty of QB's some future and current hall of famers had character/maturity issues.

It's not ONLY that he has character issues. Seriously.
