Probably not too much. 1 Quarter maybe. Which is good, I want to see plenty of Petty. But I'm very, very excited. I just love watching these younger guys play. Unfortunately my breakout guy (as well as Westhoff's) IK is gone now but I'm looking for guys like Mauldin, Miles, Enunwa, Saxton, Petty, Mauldin, Barnes, Marcus Williams, Dex etc. to really shine.
I would put my money on 2 series. I expect a lot of running and taking very little risk with the magic man tomorrow. The rest of the night will be split between Heaps and Petty. Hopefully with petty getting the fourth quarter to himself.
If that's true, we will be seeing a whole lot of Bryce Petty tomorrow. Might even see some Jake Heaps at the end. I actually think he will play a quarter and a half. Maybe 3 series. He needs to use all the time in the world to have rapport with his new first team.
I wouldn't play fitz. If we do, all handoffs. We pretty much know what we have with him. Give Petty and heaps a half each. No better time than now to see what they have before the season starts and they start holding a clipboard.

That's the thing. You want him to get enough playing time but not too much because you don't want to risk him getting injured. I think Bowles will be very careful with Fitz.
I get that, but if Fitz manages to get injured in 1.5 quarters of a preseason game....then he's going to get injured in 1 of 4 regular season games anyways.
This is really the last night that we can all dream of Petty somehow astonishing everyone with his outstanding play and stealing the starting job, leading us to a playoff berth. Then we all wake up tomorrow to see him go 12/28 for 118 yards and 2 picks and realize that Fitzpatrick will have to do.
the OP is right. its not petty to be happy about football starting tomorrow. Lets move past petty concerns of inter-locker room politics and get ready for the game. yesterdays fight was nothing but a petty response to a petty debt from our former starting QB. A preseason game might be a petty matter in the realm of the season or long term fortunes of this franchise but I for one am interested in seeing how Bryce Petty looks.
I think he'll be fine. He's been pretty reliable in his career. But you still don't want another Sanchez type injury. And we're the Jets, so it most likely will happen.
I wonder if they are talking to Vick..seems this would be the kind of offense he would do well in..he just might still want too much money.
Reports are that they already reached out but both the Jets and Vick agreed it is in everyone's best interests there isn't a reunion
I think we see 2/3 series of Fitz MAX. He's coming back from an injury as his value to us right now is too high. Got to protect him. If anything were to happen to Fitz we are in a heap of shit.
We definitely need another QB and one that can play in a spread and has good mobility would be ideal whoever that might be.

This is gonna be a really fun game to watch! New coaching staff, new offensive system, a lot of new faces and young rookies. New face at QB with a high ceiling. Should be a lot of fun man
